I take it "ready-to-hang" means wrapped on a wood frame?

    • From the looks of the ad, it looks like it's wrapped…I hope it is. I just spent $600 on a school canvas which wasn't wrapped on a wooden frame :(

  • stupid question..so this is the mounted print?

and whats the turn around time like?

    • yes they are mounted but made in store. (i use to work at OW and the quality of these canvas prints are horrible…)

give them about 3 working days (but all depends on how busy they are)

  • Where abouts is this catalogue from? I just looked up on thier website and it says theres no catalogue for Melbourne? Thanks.

    • +1

I'm in Melbourne and I got this catalogue in the mail today.

      • Sweet, thanks.. Will have to print out a couple and see what they're like :)

  • +1

How long till deal expires. And when does t start?

    Cheers op

    • Says it starts 4/10/2012 in the details?

    • Front page of catalogue says 6th - 31st October

      • is this catalogue available to view online cos OW and Lasoo don't have any OW catalogues available for viewing online

        • +2

Print error, most likely, and they removed the offending catalogues from online.

      • Thanks mate. That's what I was after

  • +1

Pricing error, or a "first come first served promo" I'm guessing!

    Great post nonetheless!

  • This has gotta be a typo ?

  • +23

WTF i work at print and copy officeworks…
This is definitely a typo. they cost $42 minimum!

Ahh now I know what I will be doing for hours on end every shift….

    • Will they have to honour this?

      • +4

Nope. Because its an obvious mistake.

    • Don't blame me if it's a mistake, blame the "REP" above ^^^ :p

    • +1

How are you going to call that one "OUT OF STOCK"? <>

  • Typo. Most likely $49.
Mounted 12x16" canvas are $50 and upwards.

  • Has this deal worked for anyone?

  • typo

  • +3

IT'S AN OBVIOUS BAIT AND SWITCH!!! SHUT THEM DOWN!!!

    • Brilliant :) haha

  • is it going to work if I show them this photo of the offer ?

  • +2

I'm sure they will put up a small sign at the printing counter which says "The price quoted was incorrect, please forgive us blah blah blah"

  • Christmas presents check!

  • +1

Someone at Officeworks just got the sack LOL.

    • +4

      49c….
      YOU HAD ONE JOB!

      • +4

Hmmm, both your post and the one above could be misintepreted especially when read together.

  • +1

For just a canvas print, I could just believe this, but for a stretched canvas, this has got to be a mistake. More like $49, I'd say.

  • +5

Not very good of OW if they're misprinting their own catalogue…

    • +1

Misprinting is common for all retailers. I'm guessing you have never made a mistake?

      • +1

I think Strawberries comment was said with tongue in cheek ;)

Price Match at Officeworks if they refuse it. "If you happen to find a cheaper advertised price on an identical stocked item. We'll beat it by 5%" hehehe Officework's advertised price…

    • GOLD!

      • Better this is Platinum :).

New OW opened last week in the same building I work ( I know it sucks :)) would ask around if this is indeed a price error which should be.

  • Could we please get a better picture of this?

    • The OzB/GG ICONIA Tablet camera in low light, on matte paper isn't an ideal setup.

  • +1

Assuming prints are 200dpi: Even at 49c, xkcd's Click & Drag comic would still cost $857.50 to print, and would come out as 21.3m x 10.2m.

    • thanks for that, just wasted 10 minutes on that comic :P what a mammoth effort!

    • Great calculation.

  • Hmmmmm, worth trying? I mean a $48 saving would be pretty mad.

Officeworks is refreshing their official sites regarding with canvas print. Well done, OzBargain.

    • If it makes you feel any better, the website was already that way before posting. Hence why there is a (crappy) photo rather than a hyperlink.

  • can anyone find this printed ad again somewhere???

  • +1

OP, It will be great if you can scan and upload page, so we can take printout.

    • +6

I'll try to get a better photo tonight. Might try the OzB BigW Pentax DSLR camera instead.

If that works, I'm going to get a 49c Canvas print of the catalogue photo to commemorate my high +be post.

      • +4

Damn it. I took a photo onto a Memory City Extreme Pro Sandisk SD Card with the BigW Pentax, running DSE eneloops, freshly charged in an Amazon LaCrosse charger, all for nothing except for realising I buy to much stuff that you guys post up.

  • Just phoned my local store up and they said bring the printout/catalog in and we will go on from there. They also mentioned that the turn around time is 24 hours for the prints and they will show you a preview of the canvas print on the computer screen of what it will look like!

    • Where is your local store?

      • Upper mt Gravatt (garden city), Brisbane qld

  • +6

They wont be honouring this, an apology went into the press today.

But there is a job vacancy that has just surfaced in the advertising department :)

  • +3

Hi everyone, as you’re aware page 18 of our latest catalogue features a Personalised In-Store 12sx16” Canvas (ISCAN12X16) for 49 cents. This price is incorrect and should be $49. An apology note has been published in all metro and major national newspapers. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

    • Yeah… sadly you post this just after I went to officeworks :(

    • I was going to say!! who gets $ and ¢ mixed up?

    • SWITCH AND BAIT OMFG.

    • +5

Thanks for this response OW. We all make mistakes…

[I think you should offer one freebie of this to OP: 'Steptoe']

    • Proofreading is your friend.

    • +1

Would you mind telling me how much you spent on publishing that apology note in all newspapers. Must have cost heaps. It would have been better to simply let the people take advantage of the deal. Free advertising anyone?

      • Have u considered this product is not like something with limited quantity ie while stock last type of promotion. The potential loss of this deal cannot be estimated, if it goes viral and definitely will.

I'd rather do some newspaper ads. At least the costs are quantifiable.

        • I am pretty sure the catalogue has an ending date.

        • Don't underestimate the sales made during the promotion period. It's at least 20 dollars loss on every purchase. If they let the deal go through I will not hesitate to purchase at least five.

    • +1

There was also a 2nd error posted at the store showing a product for $199.xx was advertised for $119.xx in the same catalogue.

So did the person with dyslexia get fired, or just shuffled internally?

  • hahaha

  • NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO .. ;)

  • Too good to be true!
