  • $14 kg for toblerone is a good price.

    • $1.33 per 100g

  • How big are the triangles on this thing? Can you melt it down and make smaller bite sized Toblerones?

    • yes, you can, but to get the same "crunch" texture you need to temper the chocolate, but then with summer it might not be as big an issue.

    • +1

Or you can spend $3.50 more and buy 15x 50g Toblerones from WW at $0.90 each - they are bite sized.

  • Never tried this chocolate, but I've always been fascinated with it ever since the first time I saw one in a mini-bar fridge on a holiday to Hawaii in the 80s.

    • +3

Get 750g, and then you’ll have to learn to love it

      • That didn't work the time I bought Dettol-branded body wash. First time I used it I got scent flashbacks to Dettol baths after childhood rollerblading gravel rash, and it was a real grind to get through the whole bottle.

        • How do you know which dettol products smell like dettol? I love the smell but their other branded things ive tried dont have the smell

  • These use to be $5 on special for years, then it went to $6 and now $10 is considered on special

    • -5

      That's normal, inflation.

      • +2

100% inflation over two years is not normal.

    • +6

Those prices were for the 360g product size?

    • Price is now $8 at half price for the standard 360g block (these aren't the standard size blocks).

      • Oh ok, but if the 360g is what I would call the big one, what the hell is going on with 750g ! I'm gonna have a look today.

        • +3

Yes you will discover that what's going on is that 750g is more than twice the mass of 360g

    • +1

How about this - the octagonal packs of Quality Street chocolates were sometimes sold at $12 about a year or two ago. Just saw some today at $30! They're £4-5 in the UK.

      • Coles puts them on sale at 50% off fairly regularly, so they can be had for $15. Still a substantial mark-up on the UK regular price, but not as bad as you're making out.

  • +4

Watch out for the sharp corners everyone, these things are deadly.

    • +3

At just $10 though, even the common man can experience the sharpness

      • +3

must be nice to be able to afford it at $10

    • Yep they can punch a hole clean through your diet

    • Plenty of time to recover during the mandated break.

    New packaging is awful

    No deal

    • +2

      You don't eat the package.

      • It looks awful.

  • Is this the same size as the one from Neo Yokio?

  • Cheers OP. will buy some later today

  • +2

Bring back the Black Toblerone! Now only available in duty-free stores in airports :-(

    • +1

My favourite as well! Wish it was sold in the grocery stores. I miss it. My family would always give me a bar of black toblerone for Christmas and Easter gifts.

    • Has Big W stopped selling it? I haven't seen them selling it for ages.

      • I believe so. I used to get it from Foodworks or Big W but it seems to have disappeared from shelves.

        • -1

The Swiss regard Black chocolate as racist so they blended it to a lighter shade of pale, This is acceptable..
Apparently….. OOPs ! sorry wrong Blog please forgive Oz bargainers even though when you have tried Black you can never go back

    • +1

Swiss made black toblerones are the best.

  • +1

Best price for this in a few years I think?

  • All flavours, or just the stock yellow?
