Bosch Washing Machine Drain and Water Inlet Not Reaching The Wall Pipes

Hi Guys,

I bought a new Bosch washing machine waw28620au and both the water inlet and drain pipes are short and I am not able to connect them to my wall pipe and drain respectively. I called Bosch customer support and they suggest not to use any extension hoses as it may result in error.
Also finding the extension hoses is not easy job , I have to wait weeks to get them delivered and if they does not work I will be in a problem.
Has anyone faced similar issue, please suggest my options.

Thanks

  • Buy new hoses that are longer?

    • Buy new house that is better
      .

  • Brands will always say not to use genuine parts.

You can use third party hoses. Ive done this to my washing machines due to whatever reason and never had a problem.

Don't get an extention, buy a longer, one piece hose.

Go out and buy a longer hose that fits your machine.

The OP will have to use an extension on the drain hose as it is joined inside the machine for the bosch. I doubt they'll be able to take the top off and replace it with a longer version. Water inlet appearst to be the same too

      Typo?

      • Oops, sorry, yes typo, Brands will always say to use genuine parts

I had a nice guy once from Smeg said their vents for their rangehood is from Ilve as the part number I wanted was out of stock and said to get it from them directly and they're cheaper. He gave me the part number which was the same as Smeg and got the part for 40% off what Smeg charges… crazy

Can you re-use the hoses from the previous machine?

Good choice, the iDOS is amazing once you work it out and get it set dosing the right amount. Read the manual for adjusting the dosing volume. Washing liquid is the bottom button/setting BTW.

Also I found some of the washing liquids needed to be thinned ever so slightly to pump better. 1/2 cup of water into a 2l bottle was enough to make it pour easier aka pump better. But if you have a thin liquid you'll be ok. Brands vary a lot.

As for the inlet, that is a bit more tricky as it appears your Bosch doesn't have a removal inlet water hose.

Can you move the machine closer or get the tap moved? How short is it?

  • Long third party hoses are fine to use, they're full of bosch. Find an appliance spares retailer locally, I use Statewide Appliances, online/manufacturer is overpriced and slow

The issue with this machine is they are 'attached' inside the unit. Not on the outside. So swapping to longer 3rd party hoses requires a bit more work. Based on that the OP is asking this question, I feel this is outside of their skillset.

      • 15 mins on youtube and a screwdriver!

Don't disagree it isn't too hard, but as I said, if the OP is asking how to extend the hoses, then opening the machine is most likely outside of their skillset.

  • For the washing machine that I placed outside the house… I connected it via to the garden hose. There definitely are adaptors that go from washing machine hose to that garden quick connect hose and back. You should be scared of these fittings popping out though. Do at your own risk.

  • Thanks Guys for the suggestions. I called Goodguys to return the product and they provided me with a water inlet extension and a drain extension (Not free though).
Water inlet extension worked but the drain extension was bad and the water leaked. I then used bunnings kinetic drain hose extension . Now seems I have a working washing machine.
