    Very cheap 🤪

I’ve used robot vacs over the last 6 years in multiple houses while house sitting.
I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would spend more than $100 on a gimmick like these?

Literally any hand held vac or even a broom does better than these.. yet the keep going up in price.

    • +7

I wouldn't say they are a gimmick. I find my S5 Max very useful. But these prices are eye watering

      • My S5 is the best $500 Ive ever spent in my life. I agree
Without a doubt, a massively useful appliance for keeping my house as clean as I would like it without the effort.

Because the difference between the $100 pieces of crap and ones even at $600 are worth it and save a lot of time

Yeah nah. You must be using really cheap and nasty ones if you think this is the case.

I have a deebot n10 and I've run my Dyson handheld after it and there was nothing in the chamber that the robot didn't collect

      • +2

Agreed. My X2 omni pulled more from my carpet and rugs then my V10 dyson does. Of course there are always going to be areas the robot cant get to, mainly behind open doors but whipping around once a week to vacuum those areas by hand is much easier then the whole house.

It even vacuums under areas like my bed better then i ever did, i hardly ever got on my hands and knees and tried to get an awkward vacuum stick under there.

I paid $500 for my old Deebot and I thought that was a fair price, I’d even think about it at $1k but $2k? Its far above the value I see in these, especially when you still need a vacuum and mop for the places they don’t get to.

    • +1

I've been running my Deebot T8 by having it mop every other day. It's a great way to maintain existing cleanliness. If your place has lots of dirt, then you'd do a first pass by hand and then let the robot vac/mop take over after that. Saves a lot of time on maintaining cleanliness.

  • Does this also wash the dishes?

    • +2

Nah but it will entertain your kids and pet, and it give you more time to make another baby..

Definitely should have gone with 'Pro Max' when asking $2.5K+…

  • How big is that robot house. Needs valuable real estate! Does it make a coffee as well?

  • Is this the newest top end model?

    • I think so.

  • Got Dreame L20 S with accessories worth $250 (and trust me you will need it). A life changer, worth every $.

It can go up, down and side stairs. Gees.

  • Seriously considering this since my deepbot 920 is just shit. Its mapping is just terrible. Does the S8 preserve its map if room doors are closed after the initial map is generated?

    • +1

My S5 does so can't imagine this would be different

    Every. Single. Time…

People comaining about the price or asking if they cook eggs etc.

If you were rich enough you wouldn't complain and likely buy one I bet. If youre unfortunate not to be able to get one it's a pity, but don't come on here carrying on as if others should feel bad cause they see it as a good deal.

You saw the heading if you don't like the deal, don't click into it.

For the record, I don't own one but I'm saving for it.

    • +3

planning to get one also but waiting for a great deal. I see this as an average sale

      • +1

me too, hoping we can see it get down to 1900 during BF

Consider what this site is for. If you were rich enough to "justify" a $2200 over functionally equivalent $1000 robot, then a $400 discount shouldn't even be close to a consideration for you.

      • +1

Just because someone is rich enough doesn't mean they don't want a deal also. It's a site for not just us on a budget.

My point is everyone has different scenarios people need to put themselves in others shoes.

Why does you value this at 100k unit? It's actual value is what the market is willing to pay, regardless if we personally agree or not.

  • My second gen Roborock just died, so I am looking for one but cannot decide between this or Dreame l20 ultra ? Any suggestions please ?
