NordVPN: 98% Cashback (Uncapped) for New VPN Plan Customers @ Cashrewards

1470

Back on again.. For those who think CR tracks better than SB - CB 2% better than the last time on CR.

Perfect timing for me, who got the Black Friday deal two years ago..

Special terms
Cashback is eligible for new NordVPN customers only.

Cashback is eligible only on NordVPN plans

The amount that tracks to your Cashrewards account may differ to the paid amount due to international exchange rates. Your initial payment is converted to USD, then converted back to AUD when reported to us. The advertised cashback rate is based on the reported amount, not the paid amount. Cashrewards has no control over this process.

Cashback is ineligible on the following:

Any up-sold products such as NordPass & NordLocker.
Purchases using coupon codes not listed on Cashrewards.
Purchases made with Crypto currency.
GST, other taxes and delivery fees.
Purchase of gift cards or use of gift cards for full or partial payment.
Purchase that are cancelled, returned, exchanged or refunded.
GST, other taxes and delivery fees.
Fraudulent transactions.
Purchases using any type of discount which lowers price advertised on the Merchant site, including but not limited to employee discounts, student discounts and price-matching.

Hey guys, and thanks for posting this deal @DeeCee. Will drop these handy tips here, as they’ve helped many buyers previously. Have an enjoyable Sunday :)

A new customer is defined by NordVPN, and nothing to do with your Cashrewards account. Simply use a new email address at their end, the same Cashrewards account as always, and you're good to go.

Click 'Shop Now' or 'Shop Offer' and buy - don't click away to other sites looking for codes and don't use any 3rd party plugins. Best to use the Cashrewards mobile app on 4G/5G as this eliminates potential issues with WiFi/router firewalls etc. Tracking for NordVPN typically takes 1-4 hours.

All plans (discounted or not, excluding upsold products) are eligible for 95% cashback (2-year, 1-year, monthly). Remove up-sold products such as NordPass & NordLocker as they are ineligible for cashback. So unless you really need or want the extras, best option (IMHO) is to simply choose one of the Standard plans and not Plus or Complete.

A tip from comments in previous posts is to select a country with no GST to save further at checkout as GST is ineligible for cashback. Pay with a card that does not charge overseas transaction fees.

And finally please remember you have the safety net of NordVPN's 30-day money back guarantee should tracking fail or if you’re not happy with the product.

    • Thanks TA.

Regarding Tax free Country. Is there Pro and Con to which Country I choose?

      • +2

from memory British Virgin Islands still valid

        • +4

          also USA-California

    • Thanks TA,

First time using Cashrewards and I've followed all of your steps. Does it take a while for Cashrewards to show up on MyRewards? I'm assuming I just wait a few hours and it'll pop up in MyRewards sections and just go from there?

    • Hi TA,
I've signed up (never used a VPN before) & selected the standard plan (no add-ons) with a no GST country, but it's being tracked as 95% instead of 98%.
I used PayPal & a credit card to pay.
      Thanks

So the reported amount on the tracking email is $80.73 USD ($126.50 AUD paid)
          Tracked amount is $120.64 AUD?
Just a little confused. I actually paid in AUD using Norfolk Island as the country as suggested in a previous post.

          • @lovedemfinds: Hi. Apart from what’s covered in the terms, it may have to do with NordVPN’s conversion rates. I can see most transactions are reporting to us at purchase price of AUD 123.11 (after whatecer conversion tool they use) and cashback is based on that. Sorry I can’t elaborate more as I’m just not sure :)

            • @tightarse: Just did mine and it also tracked at $120.64. identical transaction to @lovedemfinds

            • @tightarse: Hi TA, any idea on the typical approval time for NordVPN? Thanks

  • Does cash back apply if you previously subscribed with NordVpn with the same email but did not use cash back? Or it has to be completely new email subscription?

    • +5

My assumed answer would be it is irrelevant if you claimed CB before, a new customer is for Nord, not CR.. Hence why you can claim another CB with a new email. I'd use another email address if I was you, just to be sure.

  • Can anyone remind me :

    Using usual CR email ok
Create new NORDVPN account with new email
Best paid in AUD or USD (no no exchange credit card)?

    • +1

Need new Nord email & pay in USD .

  • +1

Dose it apply to all plans?
I think I read some where to set my address to a country without paying tax before?

  • Question re below:

Cashback ineligible on any upsold products like NordPass & NordLocker

Does that mean you must sign up to the Standard Plan, and not Plus or Complete as they each include the Password Manager and Data Breach Scanner (for Plus) and other products (Storage, file encryption, for Complete)?

    • As TA wrote - best option (IMHO) is to simply choose one of the Standard plans and not Plus or Complete.

So yes, Standard plan to get the most CB..

  • Understand that you need to create a new account with new email, but are you able to use the same card as an existing account?

    • Special terms
Cashback is eligible for new NordVPN customers only.

Two years of VPN for about $3 assuming all goes well; hard to complain about that.

    • My only complaint is that they still don’t have Apple TV app. Wish this offer was for PureVPN.

  • Thanks OP. Purchased under British Virgin Islands. Now waiting for email from CR.

  • Guess india is not included anymore?

    • long gone :(

      • Oh does that mean hotstar won't work?

  • Sorry new to this VPN stuff and never use one before.

Still deciding do I need VPN? Can some one help me with this question LOL.

The only thing I can think off is use this with my Mango GL.iNet GL-MT300N-V2 for travelling? But I read it that the Mango Router it self already protected just by it self when connecting to Hotel/Public wifi with out VPN?

    Some one please help.

  • FFS Accidentally purchased Nord Pass as well

    • nord pass is free under the standard plan unless you added premium. you can try 30-day money back guarantee to cancel pass.

      • I paid:
        NordVPN 2 year subscription $125AUD~
NordPass Premium 2 year subscription $40AUD~

I assume only the $125AUD component will be claimable for cashrewards. Still not too bad $50 for 2 years if that is the case.

        • standard Nord pass is free with the suscription so I don't see a point for premium. you can try reach out their CS asking to cancel paid nordpass under 30 days trial.

          • @will05: I must have ordered Plus plan, which upon invoice is broken up as above. I will send Nord an email to have NordPass refunded. Hopefully this doesn't affect cash-back.

            • @kev98: @kev98 I was too quick and also did the same thing with the Plus plan haha. Let us know how you go.

              • +2

@Cheezeblast: They will only refund entire order. I will just leave as is. Cost out of pocket after cash back of like $50aud not that bad

                • +2

@kev98: Ah damn oh well. Like you said, it’s not too bad of a cost over two years. I’ll need to slow down when buying again in 2025 XD

  • +2

Gratuitous comment: This is a great deal and NordVPN is an excellent service. Oh and CRs is excellent too, with good deals and reliability. Note I have no affiliation with either business but just want to call good products and services.
    Cheers

  • Done. Await cashback!

  • +1

As far as I understand, the standard, plus and complete plans should be eligible as you're not adding anything extra (upsold extras) to these standalone plans (yet) only on the next page there are add ons you can choose (e.g dedicated IP)

    @tightarse Able to clarify?

      • Ah ok, fair enough

        • See here.

      • +2

Incorrect (please see my tips comment in this post). All plans are eligible for 98% cashback. However any upsold products within those plans are not eligible, so ensure you remove them prior to purchase unless you need them. Thanks.

  • Just got my cash back from a few months ago, good service. Well worth it.

    • Do you know how long it took to approve?

      • Up to 95 days.

        • I know it can take up to 95 days but what's the typical timeframe.

      • +2

I purchased and got tracked on August 5th and got approved on October 10th, so a nice 69 day turn around time.

  • +2

    cashback noob here.

So I just made a CR account. Went to Nord via the CR link, purchased the basic 2 yr plan. That's it? CR will automatically track that? Once I went to the Nord site from the CR link, I saw no more notices or notifications from CR.

    • +2

Correct. Mine tracked an hour later (email from CR)

      • Thanks. Mine came through as confirmed about 1.5 hours later

  • Signed up with a new email, I had just run out on my old one, reckon my last deal was a black friday 2 years ago

  • mine tracked in 49 minutes, paid for the plan using ING Visa savings card - no international transaction fees

  • Blind trust…

  • +2

mine tracked within 15 mins. cant complain!

  • +3

The only gripe I have is that it takes more than 3 months to approve the cashback. Purchase made 13 September and the estimated approval date is 17 December. Really just hoping at this stage that the cashback is paid out.

    • "please remember you have the safety net of NordVPN's 30-day money back guarantee should tracking fail or if you’re not happy with the product"

      This doesn't comfort you? lol

Reminds me of another saying, "when seconds count, the cops are only minutes away" lol

    • yeah sounds like cashback

  • Rubbish VPN. ProtonVPN, Mullvad or AirVPN are the only ones I'd use.

    • +2

      Care to explain why

      • +1

Some say they aren't as great when it comes to privacy as those mentioned above and whilst they say they don't keep logs, perhaps they do.

Nord are great though if all you are doing is looking to torrent or bypass geo location for things like Turkey Spotify etc.

    • +8

Where can I find a good pricing for RubbishVPN?

      • +2

Unfortunately, Rubbish VPN plans don’t have cashback, and they rarely, if ever, offer discounts. I guess it’s a bit like Apple — they have a dependable product, and they just don’t budge on their fair pricing model. However, whichever of the two Rubbish VPN plans you choose — PremiumTrash or UltimateGarbage — you just can’t go wrong. Highly recommended

  • ok, technical issues once grabbing nordvpn due to the 98% cashbask offer to try it out.

put nordvpn on my asus router (merlin) so that all traffic gets routed to their vpn.

my ABB core speed dropped from 600mbps to 100mbps. first red flag.

my samsung TV (on my LAN) is now having issues with streaming apps. glance online suggests nordvpn is blocking it.

i want a catchall of all traffic to go thru nordvpn on my router with openvpn (client) on my asus router, but it seems this isnt going to be easy.

its counter productive to install nord vpn on all 40 devices at home, esp. devices that cant have the app installed on it.

    thoughts?

    • vnm. vmn director fixed it. highly recommend this product if u want router based VPN as well as device based.

  • Looking at this all I can see is 69% off. No mention of 98%.

Does payment need to be by card? Would PayPal also work?

    • +2

      69 is nord
      98 is cashrewards

  • does nord vpn work for crunchyroll spoofing ?

    • yes it worked with me when I sign up cruncyroll

      • Does it work for streaming crunchyroll?
I'm going overseas soon (indonesia) and will need a vpn to stream.

  • Hi, Does Disney+Hotstar work with Nord?

    • not India

  • +1

Bought! Came to $126.50 for Standard plan, cashback tracked not long after for $120.

So what can I do with NordVPN?

  • Is the standard plan approximately $160 before cashback (2 years)?

    • $126.5

      • How did you get that? I chose Standard only (which shows $103 US) and a non-tax country. I can't see any way to get lower

        • I went on another time and got the $80USD so I think it is hit and miss..

        • It should show $2.99/month for the standard 2 year plan + 3 extra months for $80.73 (save 63%) in your order summary.

          • +1

@posthex: I managed to only get the price in incognito mode

  • Thanks! Needed this. Tracked within an hour. See you in 2 years lol

  • Signed up to a new account (via CB app on iOS, connected via 5G) and the payment failed on first transaction, tried again and went through. I am assuming NordVPN won't track this as an "existing" account given the account was created through the first transaction, but payment only went through upon trying a second time.

  • +1

My standard 2 year plan came to $176 AU with $152 AU cash back.
Why do the prices vary between users so much from what I am reading in the posts?

Edit: I know what I did wrong now. Didn’t choose a country without GST. 🤦🏼‍♂️
Ohh well. paid $16 extra. Can’t complain. $24 for 2 years.

    • +2

      The ATO thanks you

  • How is Nord on the just of vpn providers. PIA used to track highly until it got sold on, but haven't seen any great reviews for tested VPNs recently (actual privacy)

Proton, IVPN, or Mullvad are the recommended ones

      • I like privacyguides.org as well, and reckon that Mullvad is prob one of the best (not used the other two).
These days I mainly use the VPN for torrenting on a virtual machine, and $6 for 2 years on Nord is probably going to be okay instead of paying 120 euros (AU$201) on Mullvad.

Up until a couple of months ago Mullvad also allowed port forwarding, but that is gone now.

  • Paid $160.35au and cashback is $152.92au.
    Is this correct?

    Shouldn't it be $160.35 minus 98% = $157 cashback?

Or my math is wrong LOL

    • You probably forgot to change to country with no GST/VAT.

      • No tax because I choose US LA. My price are in Aussie dollars. Other are paying US dollars and maybe paying for the additional adds on?

Total without any add on should be about $102USD or $160AU

        • My total came to AUD 126.50 like others. Did you change to standard plan?

          • @dealhunter52: Hmm I clicked on the standard plan for sure.

How can I check what plan I am on?

          • @dealhunter52: Are you sure you bought the 2 years standard plan?

I just check to get any thing near about $126au is the one year PLUS PLAN and not the standard plan

EDIT: $82.35usd or roughly $126ish for one year PLUS PLAN

            • @mt2000: It should be the 2 year standard plan $126.50AUD

              Advertised as $2.99/month + 3 free months. ($80.73USD for 2 years)

Edit: which now that I’m looking at it, doesn’t make sense. $80.73 for 2 years is $3.36/month

        • @mt2000 when you say you choose US L.A…… Where exactly do you do that? Is it when you are going through the sign up process with Nord themselves?

          Cheers

          • +1

@jollster101: Sorry I meant USA-California to be exact. You get to choose which country before the payment screen

            • @mt2000: All good, I worked out out when signing up.

              Thanks for replying though

    • Same same.. Not sure the maths doesn't add up.. Nor the two prices.. But I guess 98% on $126 or $160 is not too different

  • $126.50 for me.

  • Thanks OP. Purchased a new plan to replace my expiring plan which I paid the full price due to auto-renewal.

    • Do you use a new email? How do they identify you as new customer?

      • Yes, just use a new email address when purchasing the plan.

  • good deal, but im quitting Nord, can only get 200+ping to singapore when it should be half that

    • what host and which server are you connected to

  • +1

I am confused on how you guys get to pay $126au for 2 years on the STANDARD PLAN?
Mine comes to $102.33usd works out to be about $160au without tax.

    • +2

the plan that is selected by default is not the standard plan, you need to click across to the right I think.
My two year standard plan was $126.50

      • Yes I did selected the one on the right. it show $102.33usd

        • Try using a different browser or using your phone instead of a computer. I tried accessing NordVPN store through CR on both my mobile and computer and it gave me a different pricing for the same plan. To get US$80.73 for 2 years, the monthly cost should be US $2.99/mo

          • @Mr Bargain: I used paypal and was charged $83.96 USD = $126.50 AUD. It was actually USD showing up in my bank app…

        • Looks like Nord have jacked up the pricing since the deal was posted from 2.99/month to 3.79/month for the standard 2 year plan as part of their "Black Friday deal".

Even with no addons and selecting a country with no GST/VAT will not take the price below 102.33USD or 160AUD.

          • @pinsanity: I got charged $160, but going back and trying incognito shows me the $126 now
