  • This or L10s ultra? Waiting for black friday deal of L10s. Rotating pads seems better plus that has better obstacle avoidance yeah?

    • +1

I haven't tried the s7 max ultra, but I do own the L10s (got it a few months back for $1k) and it's a fantastic robot, I have barely anything bad to say about it, and the bad things are just little nuisances like it sometimes doesn't dock on the first try, doesn't clean the mop pads as well as I would like between uses etc.

The s7 max ultra is technically a newer unit and for this price it's an incredible buy, but the L10s might go lower.

Both Dreame and Roborock are owned by Xiaomi at the end of the day, so quality between the two is pretty similar.

      • Thanks for the feedback. L10s for 1k is a bargain( I assume you got with that deal that was posted few months ago) hoping for it to go around 1.5k mark during Black Friday Sale.

        • Yeah exactly, got it directly from Dreame thanks to the deal posted on OzBargain, my dad got one too (has since upgraded to the L20 Ultra) which… I couldn't justify.

          • @buku: Does your dad wants to sell his L10s ultra? Hahaha

            • @Sirajs: Ha, unfortunately not, he has relocated it to remotely clean the holiday home.

pretty neck and neck. So mostly comes down to price and what look you prefer. one benefit of l10s is that it has built in mop drying while in s7 maxV its a addon you need to pay for.

also did a recent 2023 best options and the roborock beat out basically all the more recent options including its own upgraded s8. only lost out to the dreame l20

another great option for technically less if you have access to good guys commercial is the deebot t20 omni.

Yeah but that comparison video is of S7 Max V ultra. And this one that's one sale is s7 max ultra. This doesn't has better obstacle avoidance as far as I read on Reddit. It's bit confusing, I wanted something around $1500 price mark.

I have access to GGC is Deebot T20 Omni better than L10s?

        • Ah sorry didn't see that.

This compares the 2023 models and the max ultra is second overall. Actually does come with mopping.

I think T20 omni is on par with l10s. Similar or slightly better then l10s based off his reviews, especially around the navigation. But in the round up he did put a disclaimer on the T20 saying while he has been happy with his unit the online reviews have been more spotty.

S8 series does not have spinning mopping pads. They use vibrations to mop. Not super effective and comparable to dragging a wet cloth on the ground. The newer Q Revo has spinning mops

This is the s7 and it has a vibrating pad…

      • +1

        Yes I know.
OP is comparing it to S8 Pro Ultra which they are claiming has spinning mopping pads.

I am saying that the S8 does NOT have spinning mopping pads.

Personally, between the older s7+ with vibrating mop pad and my Dreame L10s that has rotating mop pads I didn't notice a HUGE difference between their performance, both did quite well. The major difference that I noticed is that the Roborock leaves much more noticeable and pronounced streaks on the ground where the Dreames streaks are less noticeable. Both leave noticeable tire track marks on tiles however.

  • It's already sold out (at least for me when logged in)

    • Does seem to be OOS.

  • OOS and no longer on app

  • Don't have a good experience with S7. Serious design flaws in multiple areas. 1.5 years into the service, the cliff sensor was dead - the suction fan is replaced right next to the sensor, and the sensor is not even sealed properly. Water get blow into the sensor overtime, corrosion and stop functioning altogether. With malfunctioned cliff sensors, the robot won't even leave the charging station. Had the cliff sensor replaced then the receiver in the charging/cleaning station is dead. I am now have a S7 robot (sort of working), but can't navigate back to charge or refill the water tank or clean the mop.
I would stay away from Roborock, at least the S7. It was an expensive unit that doesn't last.

Decent model for the price. Although for the 1.5k mark I love my Roborock Q Revo.

I want one of these because the small dog we got from the pound only cleans meaty things from the ground. I'm also scared small dog from the pound will maul this as it's a psycho.
