S/O to the commenter (@Testeagle) in the EB games post last night mentioning to keep an eye out for this. Checked this morning seems Amazon has price matched EB Games however they have a promotion for MW3 physical copy included.

Might still be worth considering EB Games or JB Hifi with gift cards depending what the game is worth to you.

Don’t select the MW3 bundle, there’s a promotion label on the standalone console. It should have a button saying “Add both to cart” which then the $89 is taken off the cost at checkout.

  • Thoughts on if JB with price match with MW3? That could be incredible

  • +1

I see the price with MW3 as $733 on Amazon, $649 without the game @ Amazon

    • +8

Don’t do the bundle, there’s a promotion label on the standalone console. It should have a button saying “Add both to cart” which then the $89 is taken off the cost.

      • thanks, too early in the morning for me. didnt see the promotion message.

      • Pressed the add both to cart option, still comes up as $733 in checkout.

        • If you're using the 'Standard' option, at final checkout, it should go down to $649.

          • @Testeagle: Was using the standard option. Looks like it won't ship to my location either. Weird things happening. Maybe it's out of stock.

            • @stuffandthat: That's weird, when I do it. It confirms address, still at the higher price, but on next page it does drop down to $649. Any options for click and collect?

        • +1

Make sure both are selected to go to the same address - they won't deliver to me in Ballarat, so when I added a Geelong address, the price was up until I aligned the addresses across each item.

          • @mickeyjuiceman: I'm in Geelong and it won't deliver the console to me!!!

            • +1

@stuffandthat: Oh wow! It showed as OK for me to send to Norlane, but I'm not sure I want Amazon delivering it there (sister not home a lot of the day, and not sure I want it sitting around in the suburbs for hours), so…

          • +2

@mickeyjuiceman: Okay, it wouldn't deliver to Highton, but it was fine with Grovedale. Same postcode. Price has now dropped down.

            • @stuffandthat: Beautiful!

            • +1

@stuffandthat: Ended up getting it delivered to friends in Port Melbourne - initially said it couldn't deliver there, but after I deleted and added a few times it decided it was OK.

First time I've had Amazon refuse to deliver to me out here near Ballarat.

  • +2

Bought thanks OP, was hoping they would do this combo buy

    • +1

Glad I help, enjoy your gaming mate

  • +9

Glad I could help ladies and gents!

    • +3

The real hero right here, I would’ve never checked

      • +1

Also, thanks for the credit mate. Figured I may have been onto something. Turns out I was on the money. Doesn't hurt to share.

        • +1

That’s what this place is all about 🍻

    • +1

Oops, I ordered from Amazon last night anticipating this, but they are refusing to price match or even cancel my (not yet shipped) order!

      • Yeah just cancel and reorder.

        • +1

Yeah, just read what was written

        • They won't cancel. I'll need to wait for delivery and refuse it. Not the end of the world but a bit annoying

          • @nigel deborah: Paid via card? Have the bank cancel it? Doubt it's left the warehouse, so they aren't gonna send it, if the payment isn't there.

Even their own cancellation webpage it says "You can cancel physical items or orders that haven't entered the shipping process yet."
            https://arcus-www.amazon.com.au/gp/help/customer/display.htm…

So they're kind of going against their own policy.

            Noting:
            Ships from
            Amazon AU
            Sold by
            Amazon AU

I'd probably try cancelling again or seeing if you can get on live chat and cancel, show them their own policy.

            • +1

@Testeagle: The issue is, for whatever reason, the Xbox immediately moves to preparing for shipping which invalidates it for cancellation. Stupid since it doesn't ship for a few days.

That's alright, I ordered again, I'll just refuse delivery of the first ones that come.

              • @nigel deborah: Yeah that's a bloody pain. At least you'll get one at this bargain price! Glad I highlighted this potential opportunity yesterday in ebgames post.

  • +3

I am surprised, 3+ years and it's still above $500.

    • +8

3+ years and still people keep making this argument

      • +1

Yeah, it's like they don't know much about the state of the console/computer market and want the world to know, isn't it?

        • +1

history repeats itself big time :)

          • @kaleidoscope: Apparently MS is still making a loss on each console sold.

            • +1

@mickeyjuiceman: it’s nothing new and always been like that for both consoles similar to printer markets. They profit by selling games and subscriptions :-)

              • @kaleidoscope: Correct. But somehow that means they should get cheaper so they can lose MORE on each unit, apparently…

  • +2

Thanks OP. Been keeping eye on Series X for along time to upgrade from XB1X.
Actually ordered MW3 yesterday from Amazon so will return the free one to get $79 back.

    • +2

Enjoy it, you’ve done well holding out!

    • +3

Enjoy the fast load times! I upgraded at Christmas last year from my One X and man the speed of SSD from HDD is worth it alone (graphics are nice too haha).

      • Yeah sweet. I grabbed a TCL C835 75" awhile back so looking forward to it.

  • Best console for fortnite 120fps

  • +1

    Brilliant find mate :)

  • +3

Solid deal. Already have a Series X but a spare for the family room is peace of mind. Thanks OP.

    • Half tempted to grab an extra one myself at this price with MW3.

  • need the PS5 to get this cheap or have the disc ed be a similar price to the dig xbox

  • damn is it out of stock?

    • I placed the order anyway, they should restock very soon anyway. Order confirmed with the free MWIII.

  • OOS?????

  • Umm… seems to be out of stock.

  • +1

It was good while it lasted.

  • +1

    Crazy price! Great find OP.

  • +2

FYI - for those who missed out on this, there’s also the Xbox Series X – Diablo IV Bundle for $719 (comes with free MW3 too) - price matching EB Games

    • +1

Savnov23 with eBay plus takes it to 648

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/295744345700

    • This is worth it . The game is amazing

    • +1

I managed to successfully convince JB Hifi to match this with Modern Warfare. So with 10% gift cards thats Diable bundle & MW3 for ~$647, not bad!

      • Do you have the receipt upload please? Ta

        • Haven't purchased yet - but when I do I will see if I can! I gotta get my hands on the GCs lol

        • Hey mate you can have the link if you want im not actually gonna use it anymore

      • Was this just through their online chat?

    • +1

not a pc or microsoft gamer, but can you transfer xbox games eg. diabloIV, and play on pc as well, if you got this??

  • -3

Interesting that title suggests "MW3" (2011) and not "MWIII" (2023) 🤔 I'll see myself out.

EB GAMES EBAY Xbox Series X 1TB Console + Diablo IV Bundle $649 (Code: SAVNOV23)
    3 in stock

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/295744345700

  • Got knew about this deal last night with mw3 could happen and it’s gone. Being in wa it must have started early

  • +1

Still available as a back order

    • Not with game?

      • Yes, make sure you select the standard one but make sure you expand the promotion message. You will see an option to add both to cart. Discount is applied at checkout.

        • You was right was on jb live to try and price match and they would not match no wonder as this deal probably ended on Amazon by time I got through to them.

  • I wonder if we get any better deals on this or possibly with better games Black Friday not really kicked off yet

    • i imagine so

  • Sh!t..missed it. Still got my Xbox one s going fairly well but not many games are being made in it and do play a lot of MW2…. Damn

    • Same here I have the old Xbox one not the s versions or ones with 4K so must have had it for maybe 6 years I think still does me.
And I did fancy upgrading with this xbox x but not when it was released as way too much.
I did hold off a couple of years or so on my current Xbox one for it to drop in price and then grabbed it.
I have a very large library of Xbox one games so only wise to get next gen.
And as it has 4K as well is bonus as not that I need it as have a dedicated 4K player.

I think only a few games I have purchased full price most was greatly reduced in offers and sales.
Not like the kids switch where they rarely go down much at all.

  • Reckon they'll restock this while the deal is still going?

    • I hope so

    • +1

      Back in stock pal

      • Thanks, snapped it up. I stocked up on 10% Amazon gift cards. Came to $585, a true bargain.

      • Jb playing no ball on this just console no game I’m tempted to see if anything better comes of this Xbox x

  • I’m thinking of getting the quest 3 for daughter Xmas and I’m hoping it comes with either money off but from checking back it’s credit to spend on Amazon.
$100 to 150 from previous quest 2 Black Friday deals credit.
I wonder if this sort of price for amazon will be around still then or even better price.
If quest 3 did come with such offer it make this Xbox a sweat deal using the credit.
In saying that they might not offer discounts on the quest 3.

Or maybe they will offer a deal with the quest deal ie credit and I buy daughter one and use the credit towards one for myself and skip the Xbox x upgrade from Xbox one.
I do like the idea of the quest 3 vr thing.

  • +1

    Back in stock fellas

  • Not anymore it’s now $799 I had my chances a second and third time but holding off. Maybe there be a better deal or can grab it at a later date I still have a working Xbox one and to be honest I hardly use it. So maybe money saved here for me almost an impulse buy.
I have wanted to upgrade but I’m sure I can wait for a future lower price.

  • +5

If you did manage to buy, and you don't want MW3 - I just immediately returned MW3 (arrived today before the console) and they refunded $84 to my original payment method. That brings the only charge on my card down to $566 for the console.

I have not received the Xbox yet, but that $566 charge is settled on the card. I'll update if it works out.

    • how do you do the return for the game?

      • +1

Same as any Amazon item, just go to customer support section and initiate a return. They might charge you postage if you just say it's change of mind, so maybe pick one of the others reasons.

Then they give you a QR code to scan at Aus post where they print you a label

    • +1

Update as promised, worked without issue.

Refund was a little less than I estimated, work out as $574.64 for the console.

      • Prob knocked off $8 or so for the shipping. But good work, I'm about to do the same thing.

Did you talk to support, or just do it in an automated fashion?

        • +1

Just the automatic way. I actually wanted to refuse delivery but they left it at the door.

You can avoid the postage fee if you bend the truth slightly and select one of the fee-free options (e.g. unsatisfied with product).

          • @nigel deborah: OK, mine is now sent back as well. And device delivered (to the place I nominated down in Melbourne because (surprise surprise) Couriers Please don't know where Ballarat is) so I'll pick that up tomorrow. Surprisingly efficient for CP, TBH, quite surprised.

            • @mickeyjuiceman: They're better than a lot of the others in my experience. Aramex are the worst.

They did dump my Xbox at the door though when it was meant to be signature required

      • Yep. Have started the return process for the game aswell. Will drop off at post office this week

  • DEAL IS BACK UP. IN STOCK. GO GO GO!

  • its back in stock now again. just ordered one.

  • Good deal. Microsoft plans to give the series X and S a minor update in 2024, so you'll probably see a few bargains in the lead up to it.

    https://www.theverge.com/2023/9/19/23880111/microsoft-xbox-s…

    • What’s the update to the x do you mean new model next year? I prefer to have a disc drive so I can play a load of my Xbox one games on it.
Still not jumped on this deal
