    Keychron use DHL for shipping.
DHL has some screwed up ideas on what is 'regional' or not in Australia.
My last 2 purchases Keychron wanted to increase the shipping to ~ AUD@120
Had to have them sent to a friends place.
Just a caution… Great keyboards though.

edit for clarification… the increase Keychron wanted was a few days after I'd already paid.
    Was really annoying.

    • Mine came through Aus Post. Sent Monday by Keychron express from Victoria so no issues from their end, but took Aus post four days to deliver it to Brisbane city. Maybe yours came from OS. Their customer service could be a little better that’s for sure.

      • Sounds like you ordered from the Keychron Australia store?

        • That’s right. Apologies - I think I misunderstood and thought the above poster did too.

Add to cart, add details at checkout then wait about an hour for a 10% discount code to arrive in your email asking you to finish checkout. It’s a unique code.

Recently picked up a barebones Q1 Pro. Pretty happy with it - the size is brilliant and a lot more ergonomically for me than using a keyboard with numpad.

    • bugger should have waited. Might ask them if they can apply retrospectively. Not holding my breath though, will report back!

      • +2

Yeah I highly doubt they would, but you should still be happy with your purchase as I don’t think there’s anything better around close to this price. Hope you enjoy it.

Congrats on first post - Add the Store in the title and ($0 C&C) to clean it up.

Carbon A and B are just the keycap colouring.

Main things youre paying for are:
    - Gasket underlay
    - Silicone Underlay
    - Knobby Boy

Youre paying for a heavier build quality and knob but if youre into that then fill your boots. I have the K10 Pro sounds thocky enough for me.

There are quite a few on sale with savings between $10 and $40

I have a Q2 which I have been very happy with. I didn't particularly like the feel of the stock caps and ended up swapping for Drop GMK White-on-Black.

    • yeah am thinking I may swap them out. Will see how I like them when it arrives

  • Great KB but I need it to be wireless 😕

My wife got the wireless one and seeing his average the connection is….no you don't.

  • $250 keyboard is considered a deal

Its like collecting Warhammer 40k - like crack.

      • It feels nicer to type on
      • It sounds nicer
      • It has a much more solid feel
      • You can customise it. Personally, I haven't gone very far - just WOB with 2 custom keycaps
      • It's easy to customise with VIA on basically any system
      • It has a wheel. Well, knob - Jesus… I use mine to control and mute the volume.
      • You're probably using it every day or workday
      • You can do something different - split, ergo, etc.

But it's the price that has been increasing every model released that hurts. At this kind of price might as well go buy niche brand parts and build one yourself full custom.

        • I still have two keyboard projects I've been meaning to complete for 2+ years.

There's a level of convenience in buying a fully-assembled board.

        • Ya my older keychron was sub $100 I think

          • @Telios: The K6 is cheaper than when I bought it. Currently on sale at $99.

            Q series is more expensive.

      • I guess my phrasing wasn’t great. I can see that it’s appealing for others, but it isn’t something I could ever give a shit about personally

        • Also you can buy much cheaper ones that cover off 90% of the above…

  • Have they fixed the connection issues with these keyboards?

      also interested to know.

Using my K8 permanently wired because of the stupid connection lag

      • K8 or K8 pro?

I haven't noticed it myself but I don't use it for work at the moment.

    • My wife's is pretty average. Trying to remember which it is but only bought a few months ago. My cheap one is much better, my Logitech was perfect.

    • I use 2 wireless, no connection issues.

  • Where is pickup?
Do Keychron have a location in Australia?

    • They have an Australian online store that is separate to the international one, yes.

    • If I recall correctly during checkout it was in cheltenam VIC

    • Next door to Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne.

  • Hi. Just wanted to hi-jack this post a bit.

Can someone recommend the model I want as I can’t figure how the naming of the model works.

I wanted a keyboard with following features.

    • wireless (Bluetooth)
    • quiet - office use
    • prefer lighter as I need to carry it around in backpack

In terms of the keyboard layout,
    Option
    1 similar to this
2 without the number pad but prefer to have the arrow keys and ins, del keys kind of spaced out a bit from the main keys like this one

Can anyone explain to me which models I should be looking at?

    Thanks.

  • K8 with brown switches

    Layout sounds like tenkeyless (80%).

K are standard, wired and BT, white or RGB blacklight, sometimes no backlight, and aluminium frame option. Non-custom.
There are a couple of C series boards that are basically K but no BT.
Q are custom, non-BT boards, with high-quality aluminium bodies, usually with factory-fitted foam, different materials available for plates, and usually available barebones.
V are basically Q but the body is not aluminium, it will be a plastic that is premium, with a translucent option.

So look at the K8 I reckon.

I have brown switches and although they're louder than the atrocious Dell keyboards we have in the office, no one has ever mentioned they have a problem with the noise.
