Fridge (French Door): LG GF-L700M or Samsung SRF7500SB
Dishwasher: Bosch SMS6HCI01A or LG XD3A25PS

Thanks in advance.

What were the results of your research prior to posting?

Fridge was mainly picked due to sizing of the space.
Bosch was recommended for a dishwasher as long as it comes out of germany.
Electrolux sounded good for dryer with the reverse tumble feature. My current fisher unit tangles up the sheets. Also getting the same brand washer / dryer as they will be sititng next to each other.

    • As follows>

  • If going Bosch, German made

      Chinese is much better

Been using german Bosch 6 dishwasher and series 8 washing machine the last 2years ,both been faultless, would thoroughly recommend

  • Will also be shopping for a fridge/freezer for a family of 4/5 ,current fisher paykel in its way out after 10years grafting

  • Yep agree with all of the above.

I have a Bosch washing machine and it's going great.
Euromaid dishwasher - been 7 years without an issue (best budget dishwashers going around)
Panasonic fridge - 14 years with no issue
    no dryer.

  • Bosch says you can expect 11 years from a washer. Electrolux rates poorly for longevity. Miele engineers and tests to 20 years. My washer faulted at age 31, still repairable

    • Electrolux rates poorly for longevity.

Mine still works after 14 years, outrunning the standard age?

      • Sometimes you can just get lucky…
The thing is, it's axiomatic that Miele laundry appliances offer supreme longevity, just don't understand why some consumers prefer to work their way up to Miele. There's enough information around to confirm they're a solid investment.

        • Or sometimes you can just get unlucky. I had various appliances from different brands throughout the years, and they all performed well except the Westinghouse dishwasher (which wasn't cleaning well). I haven't bought Miele yet but had bosch. White good don't die like they used to be.

  • I would highly disagree with the Washing machine and dryer being Electrolux. Look at the reliability of the brand and it's cheaper for a reason. Much better off going with LG, Bosch or F&P for these. Also avoid Samsung for these

    • More expensive isn't always better, nor is a brand by name, necessarily more reliable.

Look at the reliability of the actual MODEL, and the reviews and ditto for the ones you recommend.
LG certainly make some crap stuff too.

      • Electrolux in particular, they own a massive number of companies and make stuff globally. They're the only company that still makes any large kitchen appliance in Australia (their ovens are made in South Australia).

    • Don't think Electrolux are that cheap. Plus one is made in Germany, (higher labour cost) other is made in Asia, that doesn't mean the parts are that shit. Bosch is good but Electrolux isn't that bad. Plus it all depends on the model not just the brand name.

Reliability according to what? productreview ? You have to keep in mind the amount of units sold vs dud units

  • Cut out the samsung and you are good.

    Bosch washing machine/dishwasher
    I'm using a westinghouse fridge

We had a Samsung fridge for 13 years and an LG washing machine for 15 years.

Our replacements were an LG fridge (looked the same as Samsung but the doors felt sturdier) and a Bosch washing machine.

We have had a Bosch dishwasher for 12 years and it's still going strong.

Also we bought a Fisher and Paykel dryer (non heat pump) as they are well known for their dryers. Works well and I was not convinced that our use justified the heat pump version.

Recommend looking at appliance central for good deals (we try use appliance online but always get them to price match). GG will match as well.

Choice and productreview do reviews but remember that only the people with lemons usually write reviews.

Our Samsung washing machine only lasted 8 years. Yes they don't make them like they used to, but my partners kids are very Heavy handed, slam things etc, so it's a wonder the device lasted that long. Next choice will probably be a Samsung,

The dryer we have is Samsung.

We skimped on the dishwasher and bought Miele. It's okay.

I had a samsung washer for 11 years, it went well up til it started stopping mid-cycle half full with water. After we cleaned a lot of black dust off the PCB it started up again and worked for another year before I gave up trying to fix it. I replaced it with another samsung washer, and I feel like this one will only last 3 years if that… despite being perfectly leveled, and despite putting my loads in evenly, the drum spins at 1200 rpm and literally hits the wall of the machine… it is constantly making my loads uneven and we just hear this loud thud thud thud.. won't be getting another samsung…

    • Samsung dishwasher is garbage. Had one where the racking kept falling down. Reviews littered with same complaint. Never again.

  • Worth spending $25 or so for 3 months of Choice magazine online subscription and read their recommendations. Fairly thorough research and you can narrow down the list from there.

  • I find that Bosch dishwasher pretty ugly. I prefer the minimalist look of the LG quadwash. I would avoid any Samsung items.

  • get a dishwasher with auto door open function (Bosch Serie 8). so much better for drying

I have an Electrolux dryer and it's great. Made in the EU. Also purchased one for my inlaws and both have been fantastic. Approx 2 years old for reference

  • Do not buy an Electrolux dryer! Biggest mistake ever.

    • can i ask which model you bought? is it made in Europe?

  • From my own experience, you can just be unlucky sometimes.

I went for Bosch Series 8 for both Washer and Dryer thinking we'd pay a bit more for quality.
We had the first Washing machine replaced under warranty after 1 yr. Second one is still going well after about 5 years.

Dryer 8kg heat pump dryer, about 3-4 years old and takes forever to dry. Clothes are still wet after 3 hr cycle. Have to keep putting it back on till it's dry, usually takes about 5-6hrs. So looking buy a new dryer soon.

LG french door fridge. Has been faultless, during its 4-5 yrs.

Westinghouse dishwashers seem pretty good midrange value for money. Simple to use. Have had them in 3 houses now. Happy with ours currently.

It seems to me that nothing is made to last forever these days, if your lucky you can get a good run from a product sometimes.
