I've got one similarly specced (except bigger battery but slower core) pretty good for web surfing, reading emails and other stuff, and watching standard DEF movies, but havent got decent HD movies to play smoothly. playing games on etc

They are semi decent for use as a media player too specially as this one has HDMI seems like a decent basic model…only 512MB RAM but that seems enough for my base TAB…

What’s more, with access to the android market (via Google Play Store)

  • High speed internet connection
  • Connect and enjoy 1080p HD video on your HDTV via HDMI

Has a lower resolution that most half decent modern 7" tablets. Has a lower resolution than the 10" HP Touchpad I got aaaages ago. Things will look terrible on this screen.

    • meh, it will be fine for watching movies and doing basic stuff on… its 149.. what do you want!

      • +2

Watching movies in native HD would be a good start. 1024*600 is crap, even worse on a 10".

        • but i dont know if this thing would even play HD movies :P

well I paid $149 for my touchpad with 32gb storage….so I am a little spoiled (thanks, HP fire sale!). Your one might be about the best you could scrape up for $157 delivered today…but maybe that just means people shouldn't buy a 10" tablet at all at that price point or either should fork out the extra $30 as mentioned below for something you won't want to throw against the wall every 2 minutes.

for the same price, Ampe A10 can beat this hands down.

    • a neg for what?

Yeah, low res screen (even the iPad 2 has 1024 x 768) is the killer here.

Not very good value because a month back you can get a Cube U30GT for $179, free delivery and it boasts much better specifications.

your still talking 20 bux more… as a base model table - landed price is pretty decent… (Though i agree it does have average specs still good enough for a media player watch movies and for the kids though! - which is why i posted it)

    • Isnt this just an expensive brick that weighs a whopping 720grams and is 16mm thick. Thats almost as thick as 2 iPads put together! Add that with the measly 512mb ram, crappy 2mp camera and its single core, may as well spend like $30 more and buy the Kogan tablet that is <10mm thick and approx 550grams

Interestingly the tagline from 1-Day is "Sharper Image 10 Inch Android 4.0 Tablet", but the screen resolution (1024x600) says the completely opposite!

The model seems to be Joyplus M18A:

    http://www.joyplusgroup.com/en/products/tabletpc/path0289/20…

Which uses Telechips TCC8803 from Korea:

    • nice… wonder what happened to the 3g? would certainly be a bargain with 3g!

      • Yes it would probably be a better bargain if 3G module is included. However from the spec it did says "option" right next to it.

  • No way this can be considered 'a good deal'. Low-res screen, limited RAM, heavy. 1024x600 on a 10" (not a 7"!!) screen would be painful.

  • Cant even consider… Spend more and get some decent one.

  • 0.5gb ram? wireless g? pfft

  • ill put it this way WISC, no matter how you justify this tablet, you can get it cheaper from Alibaba anyway, so its not even a bargain to begin with
