Nice find PhoneNerd. Don't forget the OzB hack to get a $30 SIM for $10 at wherever it's on sale.
Usually Coles or WW take turns each week.

      Good idea SIMNerd

So you buy a $10 sim for unlocking the phone?

  • How come this comes with 7 years of updates? I only got 3 years of updates with my Pixel 5.

    • +5

Google have increased the update support period since the Pixel 5. Pixel 6-7 get 5 years of updates, and Pixel 8-10 get 7 years

  • 7 Pro @ $459 or this? 7 Pro seems to have more "better" features but 9a means more years of updates…

Google Pixel 9a has higher Geekbench scores and longer support.

      • thanks, I used this to compare: https://versus.com/en/google-pixel-7-pro-128gb-vs-google-pix…. I'm not very familiar with Geekbench but after some googling, it seems more based on performance than specs, is that right? I'm not very tech-savvy tbh!

Geekbench is a cross-platform benchmarking tool that measures a computer or device's CPU and GPU performance. It uses simulated, real-world tasks to calculate single-core and multi-core scores, helping users compare performance across different devices, operating systems, and processor architectures.

This is the website I use for comparison:
    https://nanoreview.net/en/phone-compare/samsung-galaxy-a36-5…

"Based on our estimates, Samsung Galaxy A36 5G offers an 122.9% better value-for-money ratio at the given prices. It may not be worth paying an additional 350 AUD for Google Pixel 9a."

Really weird in the scoring tbh. Arguably benchmark/performance are the most valuable and I dont see any reason to choose the Samsung.
