Expedia Australia: 12% Cashback on Hotels (Uncapped) + [Westpac] 8% Bonus Cashback ($50 Cap) @ ShopBack

160

Not as good as last deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/805739

I was looking at hotels in Japan then came across this deal.

Expedia and Agoda don't price jack unlike Booking.com.

Pretty sure this ends tonight or at least the Westpac deal does.

  • Is the 8% bonus on hotels only? Or does it include activities. No info

    • Good question.

I don't want to assume but I think it's all unless specifically stated!

Booking.com doesn't jack up prices as far as I've found, but Agoda definitely does.

    • Wow really. They are known as Mr Jack to me. Every time I’m trying to book through cash back offers it’s like $50+ more exxy. I just tried and it’s def more expensive than without cb.

      • depends on the accommodation

      • Interesting, is that using cashrewards or shopback?

        • shopback/cashrewards. Lol not once I have not seen the price gone up.

          • @sauce2k: Are you doing it in a browser or app? I use the cashrewards app straight to the Booking.com app and it hasn't price jacked, even with the 12% cashback a few days ago.

I did a test with someone and jacking doesn't occur for me.

Did it across all platforms and often found booking via booking.com was the cheapest, with and without cashback portal. So your experience will definitely vary.

    Just op, booked two hotels

  • If I make a purchase on Expedia with bonus Westpac cashback for a hotel booking in March and I cancel the card in February, will the bonus Westpac credit still be paid out?

    • Nope , they wait for the trip to be completed

    • negative.

      • Then how would they stop people from booking 6 months in advance and cancelling once they receive cash back ?
