T&Cs on the catalogue state all releases of Barbie and Oppenheimer are excluded from the 30% off.

    • Thanks - I'll update the post to reflect that.

Edit: looks like I can't modify the post. Thanks for the tip anyway.

Can't believe we are at the point where certain movies are excluded from sales :(

Pre-orders…sure but movies that have been released when the sale is on….that's just crap JB.

  • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/739676 almost the exact same as last year. Nice! They did have 2 for $30s last year but I hope to get a few good deals. This year looks like it applies to all physical media so that's bonus

      Same..
"Our services aren't available right now
We're working to restore all services as soon as possible. Please check back soon."

    • +3

Same here. They sent out an email about their sale and then killed their servers

      • +1

Which shouldn't be possible because JB's auth is handled by Azure B2C.

        • Yet here we are, the web site is great and the auth servers are overloaded.

      • My phone said the link was dodgy and to continue at my own risk lol

    • It’s just logged in finally for me.. try now

  • swear the cheapest mail option just went up $3 too.

  • Since this post was added, they also made available the Mega Prize Blitz for JBHiFi Perks / Account holders, so this would have resulted in a larger than usual amount of traffic on their website.

For some reason I can’t see any Avatar (James Cameron not the other one) blu rays. I wonder if they don’t have any in stock.

    I haven't bought a 4k disc in a hot minute. What's everyone's picks for the best of 2023?

Edit: picked up Top Gun Maverick, The Batman, Inception and The Thing. Not a bad haul for $56.

    • Bought 4 for $36 using two separate orders each using $10 perks from 2 burner numbers

  • Barbie & Oppenheimer was a great movie….so much pink, so much bomb….

  • This site can’t be reached…

  • The connection has timed out

  • Site seems to be dying. Tried to order movies twice now and 10 moves in cart change to 35, then 129, then 400+, then all wiped, resets back to first page. Fail boat

    • Usually can get around that bug by only using 1 tab to browse and add to cart.

      • Eventually had to save movies to a wish list. And then split them into two orders. Ridiculous! Meanwhile JB "why doesn't anyone buy media anymore!?"

    • +1

Yeah, the JB site is glitchy as. Never wait until the last second to try to place an order on their website.

  • Don’t make the same mistake I did. Bought the Gran Tourismo movie…what a snoozefest. 😴

The quality of films has declined.

    Thanks OP bought 8

Thanks so much. Used my birthday Perks voucher and payed $17.99 for a $40 dvd

I bought Top Gun: Maverick and Terminator 2: Judgment Day for $28 plus postage. A good deal. Thank you OP.

    • +1

Just to let you know terminator 2 is known as one of if not the worst 4k blu ray ever

      • That’s a shame to hear. My worst experience with 4K Blu-Ray so far was Inception. Which other 4K Blu-Ray releases are considered terrible.

        • Thats weird inception is know as an amazing 4k blu ray im preety sure are you sure its not a problem on your end

@DonkeyFromShrek: Different people with different understandings/preferences for visuals.

You have to remember many people keep motion smoothing on by default when they buy a new TV because they think it looks good. Others think film grain is a visual defect.

There was a guy on here wanting to return his Raimi Spider-Man 4k trilogy because it had film grain. Some people like the look of T2 because of its artificial smoothness.

        • Pirates of the Carribean ones arent great as well

  • I bought a haul of 4K Blu-Rays, included some new releases, steelbooks and collections. Averaged to around $15-16 per film depending on how you value it with 4K TV series thrown into the mix.
