Starburst 550g "Jumbo" Bags of Lollies - $2.99 ($0.54/100g) (Normally $5.29) - Woolworths

450

I don't really know what a normal "good" price for Starburst lollies is, but this seems to be very cheap for quality gummy lollies. Party Mix, Fruitful Mix and Snakes 550g packs all at $2.99. Excuse me while I send myself into a sugar coma.

I bought mine in-store, but this price is also available online.

  • Good price, for comparison's sake Aldi's cheapest confectionery is bananas for 45c/100g and party mix for 49c/100g. Probably a lot of people would rather pay a few cents extra for Starburst than Aldi.

Can't comment on the quality of Aldi's confectionery, but I do know that there is nothing worse than a crap lolly. Actually - I'm sure there are several things worse, but as I'm currently rather enjoying my large bag of Starburst I cannot think of any at this very moment.

I have a hunch your favourite confectionery may be bubblegum…

I dont know, recently I think hes been more into the fiery kind.

        • I do have a mighty appetite for princesses…

      • i fully agree! Crap gummy lollies are the worst - they're mushy and stick to your teeth. Crap worms clump together too.

  • Is this instore too, or just woolies online?

    • I just bought them in-store :)

  • Giving you a postive just because it's lollies.

  • Diabetes in a bag. Bon appétit.

      http://www.diabetes.org/diabetes-basics/diabetes-myths/

Myth: Eating too much sugar causes diabetes.

Fact: No, it does not. Type 1 diabetes is caused by genetics and unknown factors that trigger the onset of the disease; type 2 diabetes is caused by genetics and lifestyle factors. Being overweight does increase your risk for developing type 2 diabetes, and a diet high in calories, whether from sugar or from fat, can contribute to weight gain. If you have a history of diabetes in your family, eating a healthy meal plan and regular exercise are recommended to manage your weight.

      • type 2 diabetes is caused by lifestyle factors i.e. sugar intake. It is like you are saying, lard does not give you heart attack.

        • +3

It is one of the factors. You can still get diabetes if you don't eat lots of sugar. Correlation does not imply causality. :)

      • Don't try and rationalise the joke.

Don't spread disinformation. The American Diabetes Association calls it a myth.

Starburst are the best jelly lollies I reckon. And are rarely on special in comparison to Allens, Natural, etc. Stock up people!
