I have never played this, but I know its a classic and I am looking to get into more boardgames. Would it be better to get started with this and see how I like it, or just go all in with the Big Box and all the expansions.
Having never played any of the expansions I find this one on it's own is fun enough.
You can also play with different subsets of the rules within this game too.
Wouldn't bother with the big box. Just buy expansions when you're bored of the base game. Lots of other games to play/own.
The big box is honestly too big to take anywhere. I wish I had the regular box. I've barely played any of the expansions anyway.
I've had the base game for 10 years, never played any expansions, really don't see the need for any.
If you're playing properly, that is trying to win the mega farm at all costs, the base game is a blast.

But the cheapest since March 2022 and a great game!
This game is great.
What's cool about it, is I can play with my kids but still enjoy. It's rather engaging.
