  Waiting for the hd9880/90 with the temp probe. Does anyone know what this one looses out on besides the probe that results in it being $200 cheaper?

    AFAIK:

    • WiFi (notifications over your phone, cooking over wifi, select recipes and cook directly with phone, etc etc)
    • Bigger basket (HD9880/90 is 2kg capacity, this one is 1.4kg)
    • Different basket design (HD9880/90 is slide out, only a part of the basket is removable. IIRC this one you can remove the entire basket)
    • More cooking modes (but I'm not sure if anybody will use all of it)
    • This one I'm not sure of, but I think the HD9880/90 has some sort of fan grille that makes it easier to clean

    From my experience, I love the bigger basket capacity and wifi. I have not tried the temp probe, but some trial videos show that it works really well.

    Note that I upgrade from an old 974x model - really basic and small basket so it was a pain.

    If it's worth the $200 additional cost, I'm inclined to say no, but if you value the bigger basket then go for it. Also try looking for it in ebay too - I got mine there for $399 (but it was the last one)

      That is incorrect. Also my $30 cap tracked for 15% cashback has appeared in cashrewards.
