Good price for local stock. Paid a couple hundred more a year ago. The gen 2 is out now which is probably why there is a significant discount

    • The gen 2 looks really good and a big improvement but it will be expensive. I wonder if it is better than DF64V

      • From what I have heard it will be with the new burr chamber design. A lot less room for grinds but I have heard issues with the power button. Judging from the pricing of the newer DF grinders over here it's going to cost a lot

        • What mods do you recommend for the DF64? I have a 3d printer so I'm keen to start modding when my grinder arrives

          • @RADICALIST: I personally haven't needed to mod it but the main ones I see are the anti popcorn shield and alternative declumpers. Also make sure the check the burr alignment with the white board marker test. They come pretty misaligned from factory so I used some foil shims to get mine flat.

          • @RADICALIST: Two of the ones I bought were an angled base and tilted cupholder. The base is supposed to tilt the whole unit forward to help with retention or the alignment of the universe or something. And the cupholder is to get the dosing cup closer to the outlet so coffee doesn't go everywhere.

To be honest the tilted cupholder isn't too bad, it does seem to help, but the angled base seems like a bit of a waste of money. Plus the unit vibrates a bit more on it.

Another one I saw but never bought was a reshaped outlet/nozzle with a round interior. Which to seems like a good idea. No corners to catch coffee on a circle…

I have the DF64V, my friend has the DF64. The DF64V is so nice, much closer to a Lagom.

      • Definitley not better, but it's subjective to how you will use it. I've got the DF64v and the build quality is fantastic. I was weighing up between the DF64v and the D464v gen 2 and went with the v, mainly for the following reasons

        1. Size - this thing is about half the size of the DF64
        2. Noise - the brushless DC motor is very quiet, especially when I compared to my old SGP
        3. Variable Speed - I drink v60 and espresso. Being able to slow it down to 600rpm for V60 is great!

If size, variable rpm and noise aren't a factor then the DF64 Gen 2 would be the choice as it is a couple of hundred less than the DF64v.

  • I would wait for gen 2.

Good price but if you can shell out a hundred more I'll go with the gen 2.

  • Anyone know where and when the Gen 2 will be released for Australian market?
