Damn fuel light came on yesterday. Still had 40km to go but filled up yesterday. Could have very well of maxed out at 150L. Would have saved over $150 which would of been a record.
4th time with savings over $100 😂

Just went to my local, they said they got the call from head office to not honour prices but honoured mines as it was minimal.

I reckon since they fixed the price within a few hours they might just let it slide since not too many people locked it.

Thanks OP. saved about $40. If not for the post, I wouldn't have noticed the price on the site projectzerothree. Got used to checking the price for special unleaded, but never bothered to check the price on other fuel types. Creature of habit.

it would be very easy to tell: lock ins from random locations across australia with the lowest priced fuel
anyone who locked in this deal for instance and used it outside of the physical area where the price was advertised
people are spoofing locations and making it look like they are in the area. Their app is telling them people are located in the coffee shop next to the 7-11 in Emu Plains. How would they know I am not there? The mobile and the app are telling them that they are there.
@MKBHD: Because 10 mins later you use that lock to fill up in QLD which isn't physically possible to do
@modsec802: may be I took a private jet to QLD and I am here in less than half an hour. Would you code how long it takes in a private jet to get to QLD and if its within half an hour, block it; if its after half an hour you don't block it because again that's not a valid reason?
@modsec802: not at all, you need to have a threshold because I could be in Sydney now, Brisbane in an hour, and again Perth the next hour using public flights too. So its not practical to say you can't use it in another location. The whole point of locking is you lock at one place and be able to use it across the country. They already ban accounts if you login with multiple accounts - that's easy to do but the rest is hard.

Choppers, in varying capacities, have been going at least since 2017 because all of my uni mates were in on it. It was a simpler time
I think he is not savvy enough to fly a chopper, and/or is too lazy to learn, which results in him just being salty towards those who make use of the deal. Jealousy.

You mean people who happily accept price gouging by fuel sellers?
If they are selling it for $1.79 in QLD, they shouldn't be selling it for $2.20 in VIC.
And if anything they are profiting from it - if it wasn't for the fuel lock I wouldn't buy fuel from 7/11 so whilst it's still a smaller profit margin it's still profit they would not otherwise make.

The most dread is that you filled up the tank and the jerry cans, the lock was canceled before paying and haven't got a back up lock, then you have to pay full price.
