    Price beat at chemist warehouse

    • +8

Chemist warehouse sucks for price beat. They apply the 5% price beat to the difference eg CW sells for $11. Lower price is $10. Difference is $1. 5% is 5c. You end up paying 9.95. Also staff have said to me they only price beat other pharmacies. Not supermarkets.

      • +1

they do pm supermarket . i did it before

        • +2

It didn't pm supermarket for my case a while ago.
And change of mind refund was also refused (on the second day).

Chemist warehouse is the most arrogant retail brand against its customers in my experience.

          • +6

@Al123: Also arrogant to its "franchise "owners"".

"Chemist Warehouse uses a complex franchise structure to circumvent Australian regulations that limit how many pharmacies a company can operate in any one area.[16] The company's structure allows it to "control" about 400 pharmacies across Australia, and it makes up about 50 percent of the market share. The business model used by Chemist Warehouse is thought to involve minimal equity investment by individual pharmacists who agree to the trading terms enforced across the group. Individual pharmacists working under the Chemist Warehouse umbrella benefit from the bulk purchasing power that comes with being part of the company.[17]"

Soon owner Jack Gance has circumvented rules and regulations to stifle competition and maximise profits. He will soon be making Aliyah to Israel (its a core Zionist tenet) by opening stores in Israel with a similar business model.

Not keen on supporting predators and not that Coles is much different, but I'd rather give them my $$$ over CW and better still support my local pharmacies run by honest simple hardworking people.

Price matching at some CW can be difficult. Some CW require they make a phone call to verify the item is in stock at the retailer for the price match. Too bad if the retailer shuts early eg 5.30pm. They do not accept the website or catalogue proof without their phone call.

Also if the other retailer's website is down (eg Priceline more than a month ago), one of the CW refused to ring Priceline as they can't see the item that is on special. They don't accept screenshots.

There was also a CW in WA that didn't have the same price as the other CW for an item that was on sale (not clearance) and refused to sell for the same price even though they are part of the CW group. Other CW were selling at the sale price as per their website.

    • +1

    • Been a month and the cashback is still not in my bank account after I submitted withdrawl request. They haven't responded to my ticket either.

@cwongtech I've submitted an enquiry to QV rewards if Coles/Woolworths purchases can be added to QV rewards. Will update when I hear back.

QV products used to be pharmacy only and purchases via Amazon were excluded from QV rewards.

      Quote from QV:

Once a person becomes a Member, they may accumulate Stamps in their My QV Rewards Account when they make qualifying purchases from all participating pharmacy retailers.

        @noren7 @nutcracker007 @cwongtech @tikei

QV Rewards staff haven't got a clue telling me yesterday on the phone that supermarket purchases are not accepted. The rewards app has been updated recently to include supermarket purchases. Their website hasn't been updated yet.

Edit: Just received an email from my enquiry last week confirming that Coles and Woolworths purchases can earn rewards.

        From the rewards app:

"Purchase any QV product(s) in-store or online from a participating local pharmacy or supermarket"
