I know what you mean. I have been using it myself for a while, I guess it is the same principle as perfumes after a while. I had my colleagues in my car this morning saying my car smells really nice however I can't smell anything.
wow, i didn't get a smell right out of the package. unfortunately amazon is a dumping ground for old expired stuff. i bought a "brand new" water filter, and it included a coupon inside that expired in 2021, so probably was new on sale in 2020 to give time for the coupon to expire. anyways it is basically 2024 so i bought a "brand new" water filter from amazon that is 4 years old. super old stock and technically "new" because no one opened it. very disappointing. i also bought cologne that i usually wear and it was so weak, and i am thinking it is probably 10 years old and has been sitting in a hot warehouse. just be careful what you buy from amazon.
i think if i bought from a brick and mortar store like repco or big w i think i would get a fresh stock that would have a smell.
the square ones that you put on the vent gave me a great smell that is a good strong for several weeks. i got those from costco, i think it was febreeze or ambipur, i can't remember.

don't bother, the aqua smell is non existent. you can only smell it if you put it on your nose. i smell nothing on max level 5 on clip, and with my air conditioner on low, med, or high i smell nothing.
i can only smell it when i put my nose on it to see if it is actually aqua "just dumb water".
you will not smell this at all, absolute waste of money.
