Bowdens Own
We always thought wash and wax products were very gimmicky and not much chop, so we set our chemists off to make one that actually works. This is a more naturally formulated wash, that uses a modern blend of ingredients to give a great shine and added protection while you wash.

Infused with real T1 grade carnauba wax, to give your paint a boost in both shine and protection.
Custom formulated to care for modern clear coat paints.
Unique additives were added to help keep rubber and plastic trims like new.
Deep cleaning detergents that quickly loosen bonded dirt and grit.
Super lubricating to minimise swirl marks occurring while washing.
pH neutral, so it wont strip any quality waxes, sealants or protective coatings from your paint.
High sudsing to suspend the dirt and grime away from the paint.
Rinses off residue free, with no streaking or water spots.
Silicone and salt free as well, because we love cars!
Built in anti-rust additives and UV protection for Aussie conditions.
Great value and easy to measure, with just 1 capful needed per wash.
Non drip cap, so it you won't get product down the side of the bottle. (OCD people like us will love it).
Like all our bottled products, it's proudly developed and made in Australia.

  • If you use something like a ceramic spray/coat, does wash and wax on top work?

    • +1

yes, it work. i got a ceramic coat done, and the waxy is protects the ceramic coat until the rain washes away the wax.

  • is this a good price to buy at?

    • i would say so, it goes for $34 at SuperCheap

  • Anyone know how this compares to the one I normally buy (Meguiar’s Gold Class Car Wash)?
    https://www.meguiars.com.au/product/gold-class-car-wash-sham…

    • +1

way better then that, that one is only a car wash. with bowden's you are killing 2 birds with one stone.

      • What about Meguiar's Ultimate Car Wash N Wax 1.42L?

Are they about the same or Bowden's Own is still the king hands down in this arena?

        • +2

that's a good one too, but i like Bowden because it is Australian made and owned.

        • +1

I've been rotating the Bowden's Own and Meguiar's Ultimate Car Wash N Wax for about 2-3 years.
(Purchased 30-40% off rrp every time)

IMO, the Meguiar's has slightly better shine than the Bowden's and suds better.
Apart from that, they're line ball.
The Bowden's is better value (of course).

Now, I'm using Chemical Guys Extreme Wash & Wax and it's superior to the other two.
It's more expensive ($42.39 with 30% off) but worth it.
One bottle (1.9L) last me a year.

    • +1

The Meguiar's wash and wax is hands down the best in class. Although it's pretty expenno now and not worth it unless it hits around $20
Not a bad price on it actually

      • Interesting!
I usually use Bowdens After Glow to dry the car (which gives an amazing gloss & has the benefit of drying the car with a wet microfibre, presumably to minimise the chance of scratches):
        https://www.bowdensown.com.au/after-glow
… will the Meguiars Ultimate Car Wash N Wax still work well with this?

      • +1

i use both, but i wouldn't say best in class. there both pretty good, but i lean toward bowden because its australian and i always support local.

  • My routine:

    Pre-rinse
    Snow job (with foam cannon)
    Rinse
    Nanolicious wash (by hand)
    Rinse
Happy ending (with broad spray bottle)
    Rinse
    Blow-dry with garden blower
    Big green sucker wipe down

Would this wax wash directly replace the nanolicious wash leaving all other steps in place?

    • you could actually skip both Nanolicious & Happy ending.

i actually do a wet wax spray, then wipe dry and get amazing results.

  • Still have yet to receive this order.

    • definitely talk to them, i got mine in a few days. do you have a tracking #? if it is stuck at the same sorting centre forever, that thing fell off the tall conveyor belt. they need to go walk around and dig around the gaps to find it. then will ship it to you. its a bit of a pain to go through auspost to get it done. it happen to me, and took several more weeks to get my item.

      • Mine just says shipping information received by Courier Please so to me its like they haven't even sent it yet.

        • yes, that is correct. email the seller. ask them wtf is going on, and overnight my order right now!!!!!!!!!

          • @Hugh G Rection: Will do, thanks. They've been pretty piss poor at sending orders in the past few years, this is the third time I've had to ask for a refund or a resend.

            • @bogak: dang, sorry mate. that sucks.

i think this is the 1st time i ordered from them, so far so good. i will definitely be more cautious when i buy from them now and lower my expectations.

              • @Hugh G Rection: Normally they're just slow at sending orders, which im okay with but the previous two times im betting they don't even have it in stock as I get a tracking number but when i track it, it just says shipping information received which leads me to believe they don't have the item in stock and never send it out and it just sits there until you complain.
