Activate by 15/02/2024 for the bonus data (240gb), past that its only 150gb. Think it's 365 days from purchase to activate the sim before it expires completely.

      • i'm new to vodafone start pack. the link you send is for "prepaid sim plus" but this one in costco is "prepaid sim", is there a difference? or they're the same?

  • +9

If this is the same as last year's BF deal, you DO NOT need to activate by 15/02/2024 for the bonus data. This "pack" is a special pack for Costco and you get the 240GB and 1200 international minutes as long as you activate within 365 days from purchase.

Source - I am using last year's BF SIM now activated in July this year.

    • Correct - there is no requirement to 'activate by…' for the 240Gb from this Costco SIM…

Also, there's still heaps available at Ringwood (Vic)….

      • Back of the Costco pack says 240gb includes 90gb bonus data that expires if you don’t activate within 60 days of purchase

        • +1

Don't go by what the SIM pack say, it's a Costco promo which means the SIM will register with Voda on the 240G promo once purchased.

The SIM pack sold at Ringwood is the $250 one which is being sold across various retailers, including Woolies and is NOT what is shown on Costco's website which is $199.99

          • @LiQiD: Na, think you’re wrong. Costco one has international minutes. Voda website and Woolworths both don’t have that. It’s a different plan for sure

        • It's just a $250 starter pack, they apply the special code at checkout for 240GB etc

          • @FeZZa21: exactly….it's the same $250 starter pack that is being sold everywhere…difference is the costco one will register with voda with the 240g promo instead

    • It’s says so on the package tho.
Btw Just back from docklands Vic Costco plenty left

  • I don’t have COSTCO Membership - so can I go with a friend who is member and buy for me?
Being member just for this deal will be far more expensive as I never go COSTCO.

    • +1

Yes, or just ask a friend who is a member to go and buy for you. You don't necessary need to go yourself since there is a limit to how many non-members a member can bring in.

  • +2

Plenty at marsden park but the catch is you have to go to marsden park

  • +2

Any intel on approximate numbers left at the Adelaide store?

    • +1

None. I checked with staff and there was none left.

      • Damn dude. I went on 24/11 in the arvo and there were still at least 150. Managed to grab 2. Thanks for updating.

  • +2

    Plenty at Epping Costco.

  • Just got one, after paying they went and checked it it showed up on some other system but said they don't so should be just good to activate.

Anyone know if just paying at the checkout should be enough as not planning on activating this till Christmas ?

    • The 'supervisor' checked the SIM serial which is printed on the receipt to validate it had been registered with Voda on a different system

      • :/
Well hopefully it just works then as whatever supervisor this was just looked in whatever system they check other gift cards in and there was no voda references there.
Was a couple of other people buying at the same time getting similar messaging.

    • +1

Yes should be good, keep the receipt just in case.

      • BTW, no need to keep any Costco receipt ever, just take your membership card and customer service will find the transaction in their system.

        • As in if Vodafone tries to put you on a different plan

  • For us non-costco people, with no way of getting to one. Whats the next best deal?

    • +4

Make friends with someone who has costco membership.

      • Can we join and then cancel within hours, change of mind policy thingie?

        • Great question for costco staff

        • I believe you have 11 months to cancel for a full refund

  • +1

Just back from Costco Docklands - plenty left.

  • so tempting but i already have boost 365 only half way through, i have fomo though deals will always come up

  • +1

    … 240gb divided by 12 = 20gb. per month

    • +10

Omg thank you! I've been searching everywhere for this answer!

      • einstein will be shocked from dead

    • +1

quick, now do the $ per month.
I ran out of fingers trying to do the maths

  • +3

Called the Auburn store and apparently all sold out…

    • Thanks, was just about to make a trip there

    • Oh no..but you saved my trip and time 😬

  • If I don't use up all of the data, does it rollover if I renew before it expires?

    • Yes, but recharge won't be cheap anymore. It will cost around $250.

  • How do I use this to recharge my expiring prepaid number from the same deal last year? Do I need to replace the sim card?

    • Port out. Port back in

  • +1

Sold out in Marsden Park. They said there’s more coming but it probably won’t come in for Black Friday sales

    • I was there at 2pm, plenty on the shelves.

      • +1

Yes, I went around 6 PM. Definitely none and asked the staff as well.

        • Thanks guys good to know.

  • +1

Ringwood out of stock, had 330 on hand at 1640, now sold out

  • +3

    Plenty at North Lakes, Qld

    • Bought 2 from North Lakes this morning. Thanks.
      There are still a lot.

  • +1

    No stock Ipswich :(

    • +2

UPDATE: back in stock at Ipswich - Sat 25/11. Plenty left, right next to entrance.

  • Any stock at Crossroads/Casula NSW?

  • Got 3 for the Family. Around 15 left at Costco Moorabbin

  • +1

    Costco Casula all sold out.

  • Such a nice deal!

I'm already with Vodafone and thinking about switch to this one, but Ive never switch to 365 days plan before so I have some questions:

    • can I use it? Im already a vodafone user. But it says starter pack so..
    • can I switch my number to the existing one?
    • Im I be able to switch to other 365s plan next year?

All newbie questions here but hope someone can answer :)

  • +2

I had success with OW price beat in store and it comes down to $94.99. However OW ones are only 200gb. Worth a try if there’s a OW nearby!

    • hey do u mind sharing receipt please, might be easier to pricematch by showing at OW

    • can you share receipt with me too please :)

    • Can you share the receipt with me please. Thanks

    • Me too please.

    • +2
      • +1

so if we have the OW receipt we can just show it instead the costco website, right?

        • I wish to know as well. How likely is it that other OW store will honour this deal by showing the tax invoice?

          • +1

@xabialonso: Called two stores. Both declining because they need to see stock levels and the second store also saying it doesn’t look like the same SIM.

    • +1

      You were really lucky.
My local OW manager stated that they do not do price match Vodafone sims, and if other stores were doing the wrong thing if they did price match.
      😞

      • -1

Or your local manager is a d.bag

      • Similarly, my local OW told me that's a different model, and they don't offer price matching.

  • +1

Oh, darn, I saw this message too late. How to check the inventory?

  • +1

any possibility of a restock? had a look @ costco casula this evening but no luck.

  • Moorabbin Vic sold out. 7.30pm visit

    • All the phone shops must have bought it for upmarking it later in stalls, i think with being business customer there is no limit.

  • Is there a speed cap, like 150mbps for boost or optus?

  • Really a good deal! I am currently vodafone postpaid customer. Can I change to this one?

    • Buy a $2 Telstra Sim. Port out. Then port back in

  • Sold out in all VIC stores!

    • Sure, i was going to epping now.

      • Is there any left in Epping?

        • Not there yet. Will be around 2pm

        • Managed to get last one on the shelve with battered packaging looks like ppl wrestled over it .. but manager assured its ok 👌🏼

          • @sajidmib: Flashbacks to 2020 when people fought over toilet paper.

    • People are quick in Victoria!

  • Docklands sold out.

    • +1

Was there today after 6pm and they now have heaps of them right at the entrance, close to where Apple/Samsung stuff is.

  • +1

    Lidcombe NSW sold out

  • Its at the right time since optus had outages and people would like to swap telcos for cheap so this did the job for vadofone.

    • Absolutely! And the fact that this year's Black Friday Sim deals are all a non event. Compared to previous years, where 50% off MVNO long term sim plans were readily available.

  • I'm at Costco Canberra, anyone know if these are the right ones?

I don't see any that specifically look like the one in Costco catalogue.

    • +3

Yes the Costco Perth Airport had the same $250 starter packs in stock and the staff confirmed that these $250 prepaid sim packs will have the same data/call allownce as advertised on the black Friday deal.

      • Legend. Thanks heaps!

        • Did it work at the checkout ? There is the same at my local Costco but no discount signs above it

          • @gautzka: Yep worked at check out. The check out person also specifically said to go to another counter to activate it.

            • @CodeXD: Thanks @CodeXD !! So it needs be activated in store ?

              • @gautzka: Yes they activate the sim from their end so you can activate with either port in or new number.

            • @CodeXD: Crap. When I bought mine yesterday, I asked if Costco needs to do something for them to be activated. The cashier asked the Manager, and he said no. The sim barcodes are on the receipt though. Just wondering if they will work?

              • @mandelbrot: Definitely keep the receipt so you can go back to Costco in case you cannot activate it yourself.

          • @gautzka: What store was this? I called to check stock earlier and heard Casula/Marsden Park/Auburn were out of stock but maybe these $250 SIMs with different packaging have a different SKU.

            • +2

@orbz: @orbz I just got it at Lidcombe NSW and I confirm that even the packaging says $250 and no discount sign, it went through smoothly at the check out

              • @gautzka: Thanks mate. Just grabbed 2 at 4:45 pm. still another 15/20 left
