I've been looking for a good electric toothbrush for a while after my Phillips DiamondClean died yet again (3rd one I've been through in 6 years… so I'm hoping Oral B will be better). More modes, better case (Smart Travel Case) and better Bluetooth tracking compared to the Smart 1 which I was about to purchase if this hadn't come up today.

The lowest price I could find from a competitor is $195, and even the dual pack for the 8000 from Shavershop for $189 that doesn't come with the smart cases ends up being $94.50 each.

      well i would say not worth it, i have a smart 4, i nvr use any feature after the first week, the only real feature u will use are the pressure sensor and timer, I was initially looking at pro 2000 for my wife, but since 8500 is such cheap now, almost same price as pro 2000, I might as well buy this.

    Has anyone got dispatched email from chem warehouse?
    So far I only received Order Confirmation email which was received few hours after I bought online on the day ie 24 Nov

      Just spoke to CW customer service and was asked if I'd like to wait one week for a new batch to arrive or cancel the order, selected the former.

    Looks like I'll have to warranty it. Not sure if I should just get a refund but I went thru my chemist so paid postage.

    I have a to admit, I did drop it 5-10cm in the basin so this must have been enough to dislodge something inside. For comparison, we have a Pro 2000 that has been dropped from head height at least 2m (the shower caddy is higher than head height) several times and still works perfectly.

      I don't but their excuse. Already sent a reply, and told them I will escalate it unless resolved.

        It's really shtty since we've been waiting for 2 weeks and now told cancelled. Also, missed other deals during BFCM sale period

        • Maybe fair trading. The issue here is they confirmed an order then cancelled weeks after all the sales. A lot of the stuff online is very vague.

              @Pikaloo: No, which sounds like I'll get a reply but at a time like 7pm, so that they hope we'll be to distracted.

              The sending the cancellation email at 7pm is very sus.

              I feel we deserve more than a 7pm email, almost 2 weeks later, we should get some forms of compensation as they held our money for a while.

              • @Pcoder: I got the dreaded cancellation email as well so I called up customer service and was told my order was still pending/waiting for stock to arrive on the 9th Dec, the order hasn't been cancelled even though the email saids so, she said something about a glitched between their two systems. Phew!, that was close one.

                    Anyway, I got the same cancellation email last night and called the customer service earlier.
                    I was told that order was cancelled because they dont have stock AND the distributor told them they dont have stock either, so she said CW cannot hold customer's money if cannot fulfil the order.

                    Funny thing is I called customer service earlier in the week and the person told me the order would be fulfilled as they were getting stock by the end of this week.

                    I told her I've been waiting for 2 weeks and willing to keep the order open and wait for the stock to come even in a month time.
                    However, she was persistent that the order had to be cancelled and there was nothing CW / she can do to help.

                    I asked if they can honour the price when the stock eventually come, but nope. Pretty much useless, nothing they can do to assist.
                    Very annoyed because at the time other models were also on sale. Could've gone with other deals if they advised they could not fulfil this order.

                    I wonder if this has anything to do with CW may go public / IPO

        • I got the cancellation email, a couple of hours later an email from Paypal saying I'd been refunded, CW order tracking has gone from Processing back to Pending Order Confirmation.

          Definitely not getting it

    utter disgrace of a company, cancelled the order due to "sourcing" issue. Low class, taking customers for a ride. On top of it getting interests free funds without any apparent penalties. Second rate company.

  • Order cancelled as well. Losing $20 in shopback bonuses from BF because of this as well. Website literally shows it in stock.

    I called up and they advised that the order wasn't actually cancelled and the comms were a mistake.

    I did also see there is stock available in nearby stores so it didn't make much sense.

  • The customer service reps keep saying they don't know why, and they'll help, but the emails keep coming in saying otherwise. Ultimately have accepted it is cancelled and they won't do crap about it despite being in stock locally everywhere.

  • Received the cancellation email last week but refund has still come through. Order status still pending, already bought the upgraded Genius X, how do we get our money back ?

    • The money for me came back within 2-3 days of the email.

  • I called Customer Service and sent emails to them, I received a phone call yesterday after my order already being cancelled, and refunded in full, saying that they have confirmed with Oral B they will have more stock, and will honor the price, but the delivery won't be until January some time. Hopefully they offered the same to others.

    • Something similar happened to me. Got an email saying it would be refunded. Waited the five days and no refund. Got a call from Oral B and they asked if I still wanted it. Told them yes even though it wouldn't arrive until January. I don't need it urgently so I'm pretty content to wait.

  • Just received dispatch email with Auspost tracking number from CW! Ordered on CW's eBay store.

      • Yeah, it was $68.99 on their eBay as well (+$10 shipping). Got cancellation email but never got the refund. They called me last week but I missed the call, didn't bother calling back and got dispatch email yesterday. Tracking shows it was sent from Melbourne, already reached Sydney today so might receive it tomorrow.

    • I called them and spoke to 2 different agents, they are really rude and would not honor the previous price. I asked to speak to a manager then they disconnected my call, worst customer service ever
