  • Was keen until I saw in the review it cant stand up and its too big not real 1/144 scale

    • +3

It can stand on its own pretty easily, and you can use the fuel tanks to prop it up, if you spread the funnels too far back.

As for sizing, alot of the RG designs are 1 head taller than anime accurate, where the head height of an older kit at 1/144 scale comes exactly to chest height of a RG 1/144, personal preference for the proportions.

      • Yeah I saw the fuel tanks trick but in the video he said eventually that stops working also. Very cool kit though

Slightly off-scale as the MS itself is around 20m tall and the RG kit is approximately 15cm tall so it should be around 13.89cm. Not a big deal breaker and as someone else has stated you could use his booster to stand the guy up fine.

Imo this is the pinnacle of RG for now. RG Nu and RG Sazabi come very close but build-wise this is indeed the best one out there for RG.

  • I rather get NU Gundam. Any deal?

If you have Ebay Plus, you can get it from Hobby Co Ebay for $67.07

$10 shipping or free shipping orders over $150. Quite a few others kits on special atm as well.

      • It looks like the Amazon price for the Hi Nu was pricing matching Frontline.

    • 25% cashback with ShopBack, right now from MyDeals.

      RG Nu is $60, with 25% cashback that's $45.

If you add another kit to go over the $75, there is a $10 off coupon code. Since the postage was $11, with the $10 coupon, the postage was effectively $1.

I bought the HG Lfrith kit at the same time as the RG Nu, combined for ~$93, with the cashback, the 2 kits cost around $69.

Built this a few weeks back and it's an amazing kit. Very tempted to pick up a second one just to fidget around with it.

Thanks! Ordered… was planning to get this next week during my travel (normal price there is 20% off Australian price).

  • looks like they've run out of local stock and are back to standard pricing from the US.

  • Noob question, what are the differences between the grades?

    • PG 1/60 > MG 1/100 > RG 1/144 / HG 1/144
Bigger scale = more materials = more expensive

Newer RG can have sometimes have more parts than MG and PG, so slightly more complex.

If you are not planning to paint it, RG and PG have better pre-colour parts.

There are also other low volume grades like PGU, HiRM, RE, MGEX, etc
