Returning a Faulty Mi Band 8 from AliExpress

Hi All

Probably a long shot, but just wanting peoples experiences with getting a product returned/repaired/replaced that was purchased via aliexpress 5 months ago? The Mi Band won't turn on at all (I've tried some methods recommended on various forums but no luck).

Do I just need to email the seller and badger/pray?

Not sure if it's relevant, but I bought it using PayPal on 27th June.

Thanks

  • Maybe leave it on for charging for few hours. I had the same issue yesterday for Mi Band 6. It was not responsive. I left it on for charging. Once it had 20% charge the display came alive and I was able to complete setup without any issues.

  • Can only try.

Not that long but I very recently successfully returned an item that ended up not being compatible with what I bought it for and even managed to get Aliexpress to refund me the shipping cost (in the ways of a coupon). It was immediate request for a return and refund though upon receiving the item and finding out it doesn't fit.

    Good luck.

  • Good luck.
I wasn't even able to get a refund on something purchased two weeks earlier. All I got was the run around.
The only reason I didn't pursue it further was because it only cost about $4.50 (it was an adapter for my Surface Pro).

Long term wise, they have lost a potential future customer. Clearly they don't plan on being around for very long.

🤣 Aliexpress has been going for years and will still go on for a lot more because like all businesses they tread on someone's toes every now and again,

I know you call yourself a "General" - important at they are, remember there hundreds of those in China. I doubt if Jack Ma will lose any sleep over losing your business.🙏

    • Instead of buying it from them, you can buy it off a dropshipper/reseller who buys it from them, for extra$.

  • dont email the badger…that wont help at all

      Lol - woops!

  • Update - the store I bought it from have requested I send it back to them (and I pay the cost). Debating whether I bother (since the watch is only about $60 - anyone sent something small to China before? They have said register mail only (not express) - I gather auspost is my only option? Is it all going to be for nothing….? Looks like it will be about $19….. Thoughts?

    • you may just be sinking more money into nothing…they may or may not get it, they may offer a partial refund, they may offer store or site credits only….
