  A very sweet sounding A/V receiver even for music. I paid $900 for it and that was a bargain vs the normal ticketed price of $1250.

  Are all 6 inputs HDMI 2.1? The picture of the back of the unit suggests that 3 are 4k and 2 are 8k, not sure what that means really though. No front HDMI either, which is a shame. My current HDMI 2.0 Denon amp has 7 HDMI inputs on the back and 1 on the front.

  Haven't kept up with the market in a while, but does anyone know the difference between this and AVR-S770H? From a quick search 770h seems to have been released more recently than 970h?

      Thanks. I did see that but wasnt sure if I am missing anything given 770 is released about a year later than 970 (like resolving any HDMI 2.1 related issues if any). As for specs, I realise 970 is superior in the number of outputs (2) and power (75 v 90w). Anything else?
