    absolutely not better

    • I didn’t like the taste of these beers either. Pretty bland !!

    • From memory this is their home brand beer? I had some and agree, it’s not great. But cheap.

  • +5

I brought them to an event recently and not one person liked them.

    • +2

That's a good trick, take a putrid beer then grab a can out of something better lol.

      • +2

How is that a good trick?

        • This is Ozbargain..
Bit tongue in cheek, but probably not an issue in Australia as people just buy drinks for themselves not to share at gatherings.

Buy something that actually tastes reasonable, not just the cheapest.

  • +9

These beers are terrible… that's coming from someone that literally picks their 6 packs by whatever is on sale at the bottle-0.

  • +1

    Cheap for a reason

  • +4

9 out of 10 paid influencer's recommend Better Beer.

  • +1

    Crap beer

  • +1

Tastes like soda water. Really weak taste, compared to other low carb beers. I reccomend the Steersmans or Smithys homebrand beers

    • +3

This is zero carbs. Not low carb.. it has significantly less than low carb beers.
This beer is basically for people on a keto diet.

I tried it before. It’s not too bad. You get use to the taste if zero carb is what you are after.

      • +1

Keto Lol just drink soda water.
Most of them are not even getting into ketosis, just like being told you can eat as much bacon and eggs as you like, and still drink red wine.

        • When you put it that way, it does sound appealing!

          • +1

@mskeggs: Go for it, you won't lose any fat though :P

            • +1

@G-rig: I call bullshit, I went from 103kg to 90kg when I was doing it. May have just been from eating less calories in general because it limits the amount of shit processed foods you consume rather than actual ketosis, but it works.

              • @Buyingcrap: What do you weigh now?

Yes I think you're right, still calories in calories out if speaking crudely but obviously is a low calorie restrictive diet. No fibre in it either.

Just depends if you are going to commit long-term or try it out short term. 50g of carbs is one half of a large Banana then it's too much carbs for keto for the day.

It's funny as fat is more calorie dense than carbs.

                • @G-rig: About 95 but I have been off it for a couple of years now and I'm less active at work. I still don't eat high carb processed snacks but wont restrict veges, fruit or rice etc and I don't try to eat a heap of fat or anything. I probably eat a lot more protein than I used to before keto too.

The real eye opener for me was I realised I no longer needed Nexium to control heartburn when I was doing keto so staying off the chips, crackers and easy snacks is a much healthier way for me to control it than Nexium which has some pretty shitty side effects.

Keto was a good thing for me. Shedded a lot of weight pretty fast and opened my eyes to some healthier eating and lifestyle habits, even if doing "proper" keto is probably not sustainable.

                  • @Buyingcrap: Yeah it serves a purpose just not sustainable or good in the long term hey. Obviously a big burden on the animals and planet bla bla. Good to treat epilepsy patients.

That's good, the main thing is whole foods isn't it and cutting out highly processed snack and junk.. who would have thought :)

      • Zero carb brick lane and modus still taste like beer.

  • -2

These beers are trash. You’re better off just not drinking if you want to avoid carbs.

  • +1

I would legitimately prefer vb, Carlton, or any other reputationally shitty beer over this stuff. The first can I had I thought was skunked, dared to try it again a few weeks later and… Nope, just awful, awful beer.

  • Rubbish, soulless beer.

  • +1

Still blows my mind that the zero alcohol beer is only $5 more expensive.

Like there's no tax on that beer, no wonder no one's buying zero alcohol beer.

    • It's low carb not zero piss..

Agree though, that's why shouldn't buy it unless $15 a slab or something
(like the time i tried Great Northern zeros, were alright).

  • +1

    Seriously, shit beer.

  • Great tasting beer and a bonus if you don’t want a beer gut. Those that don’t like it obviously have a preconceived idea!!!

    • Lol don't drink beer if you don't want a beer guy kent

  • Honestly one of the worst beers I’ve ever had. I’ve said it before in previous comments, this was the final straw for trusting the GABS hottest 100. The fact this beer came 6th let alone made it into the Top 100 beggars belief. They bought votes by giving big discounts/cashback on 6packs from memory.

    • The top end of gabs is a measure the most widely available independent beers, despite claiming to be about "best". The average punter might be lucky to have tried 10 beers in Gabs.

Balter kept winning because, while decent in its own right, it could be found at every bottlo. Same applies to this absolutely shithouse beer.

Also this stuff has connections to a bunch of influencers, I'm sure that helped them get a few votes too…
