Optus users check that you are getting the "free" weekend data.

Noticed today they Forgot to enable it. !

    Free data function is disabled by hackers this weekend.

    Do you have to enable it yourself?

    For the nbn speed tier compensation upgrade you have to activate it yourself.. and then every 3 days.. such a joke.

    If they were serious about compensation they would automatically do it.

      Not on prepaid no need to enable.

      Normally says unlimited data
      ( on Saturday/Sunday)

    On prepaid it was available yesterday and last weekend (For the outage apology, they added a "unlimited data days" add on even on non-recharged services).

    Can confirm it disappeared for today and I've run out of my data for today as my data came from the included recharge data.

    edit: Looks like we're not the only ones affected: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/96n1w7m9?p=139#r2776 . Media will have a field day tomorrow.

    How nice of Optus to offer something for "free" that doesn't cost them anything. My plan is 100GB which I barely use rendering it useless. Does anyone actually need loads of data anymore?

    Looks like they've added the free data days back to the prepaid accounts - guess we'll find out this coming weekend

      Yes had "free" data yesterday [ Monday ]
      and reinstated my data that was erroneous used :)

      On both my prepaid numbers.

    Anyone with high speed Optus internet taking full advantage of the free data weekend?
    There was a guy afew years ago who used up 994gb worth $10,000 in a day when Telstra had a free data day. He was named " the Telstra data guy"
    He was only using 4G back then. Would've done more if he had 5G.
    Anyone had a similar story and can be named "the Optus data guy" lol
