I was looking for a portable blender to make protein shake and found this deal at Costco. It's usually $79 each from other retailers.

Don't waste your money. These things are are pitifully weak. If you're just making a protein shake, a standard protein shaker with a mixing ball does a perfectly adequate job and costs a few dollars.

Whilst they aren't as good as mains powers blenders I wouldn't say the BlendJet 2 is pitifully weak ; mines does ice, frozen berries, chilled bananas perfectly.

For me the biggest benefit is the storage as it takes up very little room on the bench if you keep out, or doesn't take much room if you store in cupboard and light to get out of cupboard or to wash up rather then those larger volume ones that are made of glass that can get heavy.

      • Agreed, and if it does make you drink more because of its small portable design compare to traditional big blender, then it's a good investment.

        • Perfect for hotel living we found, for a bit.

Not bad if you need a twin pack.

They were $45 for the Coral colour from jbhifi not too long ago. I picked one up and it's been surprising better then I thought.

I also ordered 2x silicone ice cube trays which is 1/4 of the size of 'regular' ice cubes when I purchased and it gets through them no problem. Does bigger ice cubes as well but I feel like I would be saving the motor/blades/battery by just using the smaller ones.

This was $39 for one at JB Hifi last week. Cause a friend was looking at one.
Apparently the Ninja or the Nutribullet version is a bit better.
