My cheap stick blender broke, so have been on the lookout for a replacement blender.
Seems the vitamix at a decent price at $399 although the iconic black colour you see on youtube is still $100 dearer.

If you own one of these, you'll realise why it's so expensive. One of the best thing we got in the kitchen.
Learn to read, I said one of the best
You sound like you don't own one of these.
We had a Ninja blender before and the Vitamix blows it out of the water. The Vitamix obliterates everything inside it whilst the Ninja would leave smoothies with small chunks or unblended seeds etc.
@tenpercent: This Vitamix and the Ninja Nutri Duo. The duo is cheaper but the extra $150ish is well worth it for us.
@Treepod: My ninja started oozing this black liquid/oil into the food. First one that did it was one we bought ourselves, second one was 2nd hand that someone no longer used - did it after a few months. Never again.

You blended up the black belt?
I went through a few Brevilles before I got the Vitamix. This thing is an absolute workhorse and blitzes everything including skins and seeds.
Hard disagree. I don't have a Vitamix, instead I have the Blendtec which is the equivalent and they are far, far superior to the Ninja/Nutribullet/whatever brands in terms of power and effectiveness.
Using a crushing blade takes far more power than a slicing blade (which goes dull over time) and also gives different results.
As the hot peanut says, if you have one then you know why they cost more. (This reminds me of the Vornado threads where some random poster without fail chimes in to say their $10 Kmart fan is just as good.)
Yeah but according to RTINGS there's plenty of better options at the same price point or lower.
I cbf babysitting my blender. It's like driving manual (this) vs auto (so many other options including other Vitamix models) and all you're doing is driving in suburbia to and from work and the shops.
Rtings is not the only source of truth. Vitamix is far above the rest
@Phesto: No it's not, but I've not found another comparison site who undertake standardised testing and compare products across a broad range of useful metrics.
@tenpercent: So you're going to rely on internet reviews (often with short term testing or financial incentives) over the experience of long term owners, just so you can be 'right' on the internet?
How do you know it's equivalent if you don't own one and you're comparing it to other brands like Ninja
Vitamix and Blendtec are same level products, both with blunt blade designs and massive overkill motors. The only point of difference is really aesthetics- knobs vs buttons.

These are not a replacement for a stick blender
You are absolutely right, but I actually needed a blender too!
I never use mine
Make a smoothly.
We got the Breville one, had no problems it chops up frozen banana with ease.
This one chops bricks into smoothie
I think the breville had the bigger motor, that chain of smoothee shops in Australia use the brand froothie which is a decent recommendation in and of itself.
That’s a very good price. Would be tempted if I didn’t have a Magimix blender already. Magimix has a glass jug though, which I do prefer
have been using mine every day for smoothies since 2021 no issues so far love it
Bulletproof blender and potential BIFL. The base is solid as a rock, it's overpowered af, and I've used it at least 3-4 times a week for frozen smoothies, with occasional nut butter and pumpkin soup. I rate crushing over cutting blades, and it'll reliably pulverise anything.
I've owned a couple of the ~$100 blenders which someone will inevitably pipe in with, but this has outlasted them all. You really need to be looking into the $200-300 range for a non-sh^t ones like the Breville Q; at that point you may as well get this on sale.
HODL until tomorrow, the mid-year sale starts tomorrow, with increased cashback maybe.
Is it tomorrow already
Yes, now you get it for cheaper, if it wasn't sold out.
Not yet, soon.
Lots of comments on how bulletproof this blender is. Different experience from myself of the E310. Died due to the teeth wearing where the jug connects to the motor, it’s plastic…
It's also a $35 replaceable part.
He's got a point. One of the really differentiation with the good vs mediocre brands is metal vs plastic teeth.
If this blender does use plastic, it should not be acceptable for this brand.
Was waiting for a deal for Vitamix since end of last year, but no deal came. In the end bought a $30 2000W Aliexpress blender. Have used it for 2 months daily and still going strong, blends things fine.
At a fraction of the price, I'm glad I got the Aliexpress blender to be honest, at least for now.
*My use case is just a daily smoothie with frozen berries nuts etc. I haven't put ice cubes yet and probably won't.
Do you have a link my friend?

This is what I got. Load it up the right way with leafy stuff bottom, add frozen stuff last, blend for 1min and it's good to go.
Interesting. Which plug did you opt in for??
Currently OOS
Theres lots of debate in the comments about the value of the Vitamix vs other blenders. My own insight is Ive made a daily smoothie most days for the last 20 years and have had a vitamix for the last 5 years and I love it. Before the vitamix I had a breville blender with a glass jug, it was about 70% cheaper than the Vitamix and I loved it, it broke after 15 years. If it had of kept going I wouldn't have replaced it. The vitamix is an awesome piece of kit, is it worth the price, Im not sure but I dont regret buying it. Its smoothies are much smoother than my Breville but to be honest Im not sure if thats a great thing, i didnt mind a bit of texture in my smoothie. Ive read conflicting reports stating it is or isnt ideal to obliterate some foods, some claim the heat can reduce the nutritional value, increase the accessible sugars/glucose and make insoluble fibre soluble. I have no idea of what the truth is but if you have a working blender and are happy with it I wouldnt throw it out for a Vitamix.
Black is now down to $458
This deal is back, couple of them in stock - more on order according to Amazon page.
the price has gone back up to $529

Also highly rated on RTINGS. $329 + $45 cashback from Shopback (I recently bought one, tracked in a couple of hours in the "Standard" category, not in the "Electronics" category.)
