Tapo c210 for the same price, but UK version. Last time, worries a few people got lucky price matching this at officeworks for the AU model .

    https://amzn.asia/d/5pQd7Vq

    • Anyone try matching from JB? as they normally catches them out.

      • Tried with jb a few weeks ago and they told me that's an uk item and they can't match it. Didn't have the time to try another agent, and mine had already shipped when people mentioned that pricebeat worked at officeworks

      • just tried live chat, wont do it

    • +2

Agreed, even though the C210 requires a UK->AU travel adapter, it is still a better option than the C200 if they are both approx. $39.

I've been using a couple of C200 for the last 3 years via this deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/563728

When this Amazon UK C210 deal popped up a few months ago, I picked one up.

From my experience, the C210 is a nice resolution upgrade from the C200.

      • Change the plug or is it a plug in transformer?

        • I'm not sure of the terminology, but the UK C210 power adapter looks like this - https://images.app.goo.gl/cFrCg51xjcqBAkHFA

Please note, I was able to use my AU power adapter (from my old C200) to power up my UK C210. I had double checked all the Volts/Amps/Watt etc. Then, I've used my UK power adapter with travel plug, to power up the old AU C200 for a power point that needed the cable to point upwards, so the UK plug was more appropriate there.

You can send Bunnings an email and they’ll match it :)

Anyone tried to setup C210 with Blue Iris? I have issues with PTZ.

    • +2

I got it working on my C200, try setting In Blue Iris Camera Settings, PTZ/Control section, select Network IP and ONVIF (OXML), tick Use another ip/port and type :2020

      • Would you able to share how did you set it up. Are these settings part of this camera app?

        • Will share when home later on, can’t remember the version I am on and the firmware for C200, that may play a part in the configuration.

        • +2

          Blue Iris v5.8.1.4
          C200 Firmware: 1.3.9

In the Tapo app, tap on the C200, then the gear icon on top right. Scroll down to see Advanced Settings, Camera Account, Account Information, set the Camera account and password. You will need those detail in Blue Iris.

In Blue Iris, Camera settings, Video, I select Network IP, type in the User and Password you set in the C200 camera account above.
          Make: Generic/ONVIF
          Model: *RTSP H.264/H.265/MJPG/MPEG4
          Cam#: 1
          Media/video/RSTP port: 554
          Discovery/ONVIF port:2020

          hopefully those helps.

          Steam profiles:
          mainStream: /stream1
          minorStream: /stream2
          Audio: 64kbps G.711 u-law

          PTZ/Control:
          Enable Pan/Tilt/Zoom and other controls
          Network IP: ONVIF (OXML)
          tick: Use another ip/port :2020

      • Did the same settings but no luck. Sometimes it moves one way. Mostly reboots!
Could be due to my blue iris being on an old version.

  • +1

These are great. I have dozen around the home and work.

  • Damn regretted bought imou so now I have to buy the same brand (one app for all).
Imou is okay but when moving the camera sometimes it got stuck

  • sounds like the c210 is much better

  • Nice

    • UK version, i have it and use it with an adaptor, works fine

  • +1

Anyone knows if this camera would be controllable via the Kogan Smart Home app (i.e. Tuya based)?

    • +2

      No, it's not Tuya-based.

    • +2

      Thanks lint.

To whoever who negged me, quite sure that's not how you use a neg. A neg is not a way to respond "no".

  • +1

Do the Tapo's require a subscription?

    • +2

Nope. Just plug in a microsd card and away you go. Can access the recorded footage from local storage without subscription.

    • +2

There is an optional subscription for cloud storage, additional AI detection features (it comes with motion and person detection plus baby crying audio detection free), and rich notifications (with snapshot).

They previously put some of the other features such as motion tracking behind the subscription paywall but have since made it available out of the box.

      • +1

Thanks so much for this extra detail - I've been trying to figure out what is locked behind subscription, but information online is patchy.

I'm just wondering if there is a limit to how many cameras you can view via the app without a subscription?
And if alerts and remote feed are available, when you're away from home, for example?

        • +3

I use a C210 without a subscription and have it set up so I only get phone notifications for person detection.
One downside is I can't remotely download footage, my phone needs to be on the same WIFI network to download saved files from the SD card.
Not sure how many cameras you can view on the app without subscribing, I only have 1 camera and 2 smart plugs.

          • @Alexxx: That’s really useful, thanks so much mate!

          • @Alexxx: Thanks so much! :)

One downside is I can't remotely download footage, my phone needs to be on the same WIFI network to download saved files from the SD card.

Is this also true for viewing the feed of the camera remotely? Do these support RTSP as well (I know some older Tapo's did, but is this still true since they're trying to monetise with their subscription)?

            • +1

@JessC: I can view footage remotely but if I want to save it then I needs to screen record on my phone, open the tapo app, select the recording, and play fullscreen.

    • +1

They have a subscription offering, but it is not mandatory - whether it is required depends on the functionality you desire or abilities.

I subscribe for the event-record-to-cloud capability but my long term plan/hope is to move to my own system and use the ONVIF/RTSP support they apparently have. This has yet to play out however.

  • Does this support HomeKit at all?

    • I need to know this too as a Google search showed mixed answers. I don’t want to use HomeBridge rather the standard Apple home kit

    • No, there's no HomeKit support, however, there is RTSP support if you want to run something like Homebridge or Scrypted to pass the video and motion sensor data into HomeKit.

Any reason not to get the C210 over the C200 if you have an Amazon account?

    • C210 is grey UK with UK plug.

C210 at Kmart $59 for those without prime: Aussie Plug

  • C200 is good enough as a baby cam ? Or should I get C210?

    • +1

C200 is good enough, but C210 is a worthy upgrade to get 2K video I think. Biggest annoyance with C200 is it defaults to a lower resolution when streaming live, and you have to manually press a toggle to switch to 1080p all the time.

      • No way to default to 1080p when streaming?

        • +1

No, there's no option for it.

      • Defaults when streaming live in Tapo app or other setup? Can't tell any difference in app and don't have any toggle i can see

        • In the Tapo app. It's like this for the C200, but not for the C210. The easiest way to tell is the timestamp is much lower resolution and the video is overall also a bit muddier.

          • @lint: Idk, i have a C200, timestamp looks pretty decent and I don't have any options to change res 🤷‍♂️

  • +4

These are excellent, I use 2 as baby monitors rather than the overpriced garbage they have at Baby Bunting.

    • Me too.
      + 1 for grandpa cam

  • anyone know if they support geofencing? i.e. turning off the alarms when a phone with the app is within a certain range?

    • +1

      There is.
There is a 'Smart' tab in the Tapo app and you can set up scenes such as arrive or leave home.

      • Thanks for the reply. Do you know if it supports multiple phones? Such as if any of the phones are within range trigger the disarm scene?

        • Sorry, have to correct my self for my previous comment.
It's not automated, you will have to tap the scene to activate it.

          • +1

@mrgeckoz: I think your original comment that geofencing automation is supported was correct.

I downloaded the Kasa app in the meantime (without any Kasa devices) and found it within
Smart > Smart Actions > Add Smart Action > When > Arrive/Leave (Beta).

However, it appears that it only has an option for monitoring a single device. I guess I could create multiple Smart Actions to trigger based on other phones but presumably there may be conflicts depending on whether the app is programed to continuously re-evaluate the trigger conditions, or whether it just runs once for event change.

            • +2

@rockmelon: To anyone who reads my comment above. Update: The Kasa app has geofencing, however the Tapo camera's can only be added to the Tapo app, which unfortunately doesn't support geofencing.

The workaround solution I used, was to add a smart plug that's supported by Google Home or Alexa and use the automations/routines available for geofencing within those ecosystems to control the smart plug connected to the camera to turn it off and on. It works great now, but very frustrating that so many companies don't integrate their smart devices well.

              Hope that helps someone

  • Recently got the C110 price matched for 44 dollars at JB and was surprised at how great these are for the price, also seems like a good ecosystem

    • +1

Agreed! After having a couple of C200, and recently upgrading to C210, I also got a C110 (from Officeworks) for a spot that didn't need the PTZ and C110 FOV was wide enough.

I believe the C210 and C110 has very similar sensor/resolution specs.

    • +1

Agreed, I've already started to move everything (where possible) to TP Link. They are great.

  • Darrgh.

I bought the $38 + shipping from mwave to replace a faulty cam i have.
Turns out the faulty cam is not really faulty. It's my deco xe75pro which fails to send the stream from the camera correctly if the camera is connected to the satellite deco, but works fine if it connects to the main deco

    • Yeah i waited and now its out of stock seems like ill have to get one from mwave

edit: ending up price matching kmart at my local officeworks for the c210 56.05

  • OOS

    • Perhaps consider getting the UK C210 deal? (mentioned in an earlier post above)

  • Back in stock.

  • Yep looks like it is back in stock… https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07XLML2YS?th=1

  • Does this come with an SD card? The images say something about a 512 GB SD card, but it's in another language. If not, does it need an SD card? Never used one of these before, never used an SD card before either lol

    • +1

It doesn't come with one. I don't know what the max size is, but I bought a 128Gb Sandisk "High Endurance" card off Amazon for $23: https://amzn.asia/d/iz5Bdvi

I'm just setting mine up now :)

      • The chart on the link says max 128MB if i have the chart right, scroll down for the camera model comparison.

  • Back in stock..
