How Does Price Matching with Apple Work?

I want to buy an iPhone 15 Pro 128gb from Apple. I know Costco currently has $50 off them.
My plan is buying Apple Gift Cards at Coles, getting the 20x flybuy points, price match Costco, and pay via apple's online store. Was also planning on trading in my current XS for $200 to reduce the price more.

I've seen various comments on Ozbargain mentioning Apple price matching, but how do I actually do that?
There's no physical Apple Store near me, but can I do it via the online store? Is there a specific number or chat line to use? I've tried searching Apple price match but can't find anything but old articles saying that Apple was introducing the policy.
If they agree, how do I pay? Do I tell them my card details or do they send me a specific link? Am I able to use the credit in my apple account to pay?

I have anxiety around making calls so if it has to be a call, I need to know how it's going to go and what to expect.

    Damn, that's a lot of questions. You sound anxious.

    Apple do price match up to a maximum 10%. Doesn't stack with other discounts/offers. E.g Black Friday, Christmas, etc.They tell you to pick one or the other. (Source - trust me bro - in store experience 2021. Could have changed)

    I've only done the price match in store. Not sure about doing it online. However it is my guess (could be wrong) they won't do price match online.

      Annoying if it is only online since there are no Apple Stores in Tasmania. I guess I'll do without that extra $50 off the price.

      What exactly does "ADAFGCHS" stand for? I've seen it occasionally but can't figure out what it is.
      Seems to be about gift cards being unreliable. Surely as long as you redeem them quickly and know how to check that the numbers on the gift card match the packaging and the receipt, there's no issues?

    don't think they will price match Costco…
    for PM I called 133622..they place your order via phone and can do trade in as well…I was given next day free delivery…you then have 14days to send your old phone for trade in…
    I loaded my GC in apple account balance before calling them…so it was pretty straight fwd..
    Note - I PM'd IP14…

    I have recently been in store to ask if they would price match CostCo but flat out rejected due to the fact they require membership to enter.

    Only typical brick and mortar retail stores which has an open access, such as OfficeWorks and JBHIFI

      Thanks, but I'm not sure I'd get that much for it. Looks like XS 64gb is mostly advertised for less than that on Facebook Marketplace.

    They only price match authorised resellers such as JB HiFi, Officeworks, Harvey Norman.
    They do not price match Amaysim and Costco.
    Price match only up to 10% though.

      Again .. as i told below i have price matched the apple watch ultra 2 from costco when it was 1349 and got a price beat at 1282.

        Hey Oauiii, i did not want anyone to ridicule me .. but i went to 3 or 4 officeworks to try and price beat the telstra store and luckily the officeworks near my area have happily accepted to price beat on the iphones and iwatch. Did not face any issues and no reasons were given to me for not accepting (unlike the other OW stores - some said that these are locked to telstra even though i showed them they are not and they were not ready to accept it) .. so got a good deal .. cant price match with Apple though ..
