Working Online from Overseas

Hi,

Any Oz/ international reputable companies which pay well for working abroad online?

Not considering setting your own biz or using your own capital type jobs.

Any suggestions welcome.

Ta.

Plenty. However, to work in those companies, you need to have the required skills to find them.

LOL nope, well not disclosed anyhow…..why pay you Australian wages when you are living in a 3rd world country? Might as well skip paying you the Australian wages part and employ someone directly at 1/10 of your cost.

      Without more info - Scam

    • Pretty sure its those guys who state need to do 5-7 courses in 1month then can make 100k in web security.
Its like the old days when every 15 year old nerd has a CISCO certificate, but still had to go do cert 4 in networking or similar to get a job at a ISP.

    • Lol, anyone who thinks those things are even remotely legitimate is extremely gullible.

The companies with the resources to manage that would have overseas branches where they employ locally. Can't really be a long term 'Australian' employee working overseas. There are tax limitations.

  • My AU based employer has a fairly new policy against this, the wording suggests the company is unable to meet it's WHS obligations if you are traveling and working without prior approval.
I do know they have employed former full time staff as contractors abroad, presumably to avoid these things but still retain the staff members.

    1. Get a job that pays well WFH in Australia
    2. Become highly valued
    3. Move overseas and setup a fast tunnelled connection (Don't use a VPN)

Bonus points - Take a photo of the overseas beach you're sitting at with your laptop, use the pic as your Teams and Zoom background.

    • Yeah if you're already embedded in the company and know their systems and stuff, then yeah it's probably easier to have you work from home if you relocate overseas than it is to lose you. If you move overseas to be with family or whatever then WFH is their only choice to keep you. Especially if you're older and around retirement age anyway, they need you more than you need them.

Sounds like OP wants to move right now though.

    • Any suggestions for setting up a fast tunnelled connection?

  • We have 1 employee that works from Bali, her role is 100% VIOP phone based and web.

  • Would you prefer we crowd funded you a generous weekly wage, given you are so flat out ?
