Great specs for the price, decent graphics + i7 is very nice in this bracket

    (wouldn't touch 1366 x 768 with a 10 foot pole though)

    • +1

I wouldn't either. You'd most likely irreparably scratch your shiny new display.

  • Great price!!

  • Bought one only 3 weeks ago for $700 with 8GB upgrade from JB.

One thing I don't like about it is that Samsung doesn't give me a OEM Windows 7 CD.

    • +2

no company will give you the OEM cd (as far as i know) apart from dell who like to make things complicated.

a recovery mode is stored on a partitioned drive within the machine.

if you wish to restore your samsung machine on boot hold down f2 (i think thats the key for samsungs)

      • HP - their ProBooks at least anyway. You get a heap of CD's, much like you used to.

From memory there was a Windows 7 DVD (with no bundled software!!), driver & software disc and a recovery CD. I was pretty damned impressed actually!

Edit: I used the Win7 disc to reinstall onto the old laptop - a Toshiba. Had no problems at all. :)

    • What's the battery life like? I've been a bit wary of the new i7's being in such a cheap unit - hoping they aren't cutting costs on the battery. :/

      • It's remarkable to find an i7 for $600 now. You always see the negatives?

    • One can always create a recovery DVD disk using the utility proved by manufacturer. Just Google it.

      • +1

That requires that you still have the original recovery partition as well.

For those that are interested, you can download official ISO's from Digital River of all Windows and Office version - very handy! Just Google it.

        • Yeah this is a great tip, clean ISO's with no manufacturer bloatware or dodgy crack jobs.

    Beware.

    • Yeah?
Any links or stories you wanna share?

      • im sure if you bothered to google 'whirlpool megabuy' you can read one of the many mega threads about it.

        Stop being lazy.

Not as good as Binglee price 40% off deal not too long agao $577 with free shipping but still a good deal also these guys have a bad rep

  • -1

can you guys match the binglee price $578 shipped and i might be tempted ?

    • I am in as well.

    • +1

This is not spam by the way.

Oh good, because for a moment there it looked like you were shamelessly posting a link to your competing bargain web site, completely unsolicited. I must have been mistaken though, since that would be spam.

Will never deal with megabuy again. Be careful.

    • If you don't mind me asking what did Megabuy do to make you say that?

  • Excellent price!

  • +1

Man this laptop type has been on special by nearly every major retailer during the last 6 weeks, kinda crazy. Decent product supposedly though, good by most accounts.

  • How about this and the N40L for $750 delivered… I'd hand over my hard earned cash for that!
