    I have a mate with one of these and it’s stood the test of many messy parties and camping trips. The sound is great but above all else it can absolutely cop punishment.

      I second this. My JBL Charge 4 has been through the storm and still sounds identical to how it did when I first bought it. Tested it against a brand new Charge 5 to confirm this.

      I have one of these and it gets used quite a lot, beach, BBQ's, picnics etc and I can't fault it, I really think the sound quality is incredible at this price point. Highly recommend.

        They sound even better with an equaliser app set to "flat". Not sure why, but they do. They must have an unusual default eq. Sounds the best of the widest range of genres

      even the cheaper Flip essential has USB-C so I don't know where you got the micro-USB spec from.

            on certain posts you expect to see at least one comment almost straight after posting that says "Micro USB? in 2023???" I dunno it's just a meme at this point but it seems to be a never ending criticism.

    Hey guys, genuine question here. I was about to pull the trigger on this when I found Flip 6 on ebay My guess is that Flip 6 is probably grey imported but they provide the same warranty and the price is lower, so what is the point of going for Flip 5?

      that seller has low feedback numbers which can be farmed. price seems too good to be true. JBL speakers can be found on aliexpress as well I wouldn't count on them being real.

      other than that, Flip 5 vs 6.
      5 has single racecar speaker that's it, 6 has the same but adds a tweeter (users say 6 gets louder by a tiny amount and is a little clearer).
      5 floats in water, 6 doesn't.
      6 has in app EQ, 5 doesn't.

      They sell fake ones online. If you go to Asia, you'll find them all over the street markets.

      Refer to that sellers feedback you linked in, a lot of negs stating the flip 6 is fake
