First Choice Liquor coming to Launceston

Since moving to Tasmania I was disappointed to see there are no 1st Choice stores in the state, because when I was in Qld I always enjoyed having another major retailer with a slightly different range of products. However that’s about to change with new store opening soon in Launceston, on Frederick St in the same complex as Pet Barn. Amusingly, it’s accessible from the same one-way street as Dan’s (off Bathurst St) but about 400m before you reach the competition. I would imagine that was carefully planned.

Anyway, for anyone coming to Launnie you’ve now got another option for alcohol purchases. I like the local 9/11 Bottleshop for their focus on Tassie products and Dan’s for the wide range & price, now there’s more choice coming to the market.

    Gee, so if I ever go to Launceston (highly unlikely) it is great to know I have an additional outlet from which to buy grog.
    That just makes my day (not) !!

      Ah, but you’d be doing yourself a disservice by not visiting. Plenty more to see & do here. The air is fresh & clean, Tassie is a foodie’s paradise, and the outdoor activities are numerous and spectacular. Don’t want to relax later with a vino or glass of bubbles? S’ok! Just enjoy a sunset across the Western Tiers and drink in the view - if you stay up later the star show is fantastic away from the lights of town.

      If that’s your jam then visit America and walk into a Costco there. At the Aldi stores I’ve seen you hardly have room to swing a cat in the liquor section. ‘Jumbo’ is hardly an adequate description of what you find in American Costco stores.
