Panasonic 6-Blade Wet & Dry Electric Shaver With Clean & Charge Station $419 ($899 RRP) Shipped @ Shaver Shop eBay

80
SAVETH

Purchased this in Jun 2023 for 583 to test and it shaved closer than Braun 9 Pro. I quite enjoy it. I use tretinoin so I can't shave with double edged razor anymore as it causes my skin irritation and peeling. This one doesn't irritate my skin and it doesn't redden my skin. I am still using it everyday and my Braun 9 Pro is sitting in a corner lonely.

For those want to pay more, there is Amazon for $449

This seems to be lowest price so far that i can find.

anasonic 6-Blade Wet & Dry Electric Shaver

    Sounds like a bummer…

  • I have the 3 blade. 5 blade and the 9 pro. The 3 blade is better than the 5 for a 1/4 the price.

The 9 pro is better than the 5 blade.

PS: my 20+ year old Braun series 8. 2 blade is still better than all of them.

  • How does the self cleaning go ?

    • +1

It has this packet, you just mix it in that charging station. When you press clean, it pumps that solution up and run the blades through that solution. After that, it blows air to dry it. It takes about 30 mins for that whole process to finish. The actual cleaning, I think is 5 mins. The blow dry part takes 25mins. That's what I estimated…I haven't sit there and actually time the process.

      • What do you mean by; "The self cleaning is absolutely rubbish to the point where I leave it my car, and just dry buzz my face up and down"

        • -1

It does nothing, so I don't even bother using it.

How do you buy this few years ago? I think it was only release in Australia this year. Maybe late last year…I think you might confuse it with 5, 4, or 3 blades?

You're right, I had the 5… Looks almost exactly the same, the 5 foils now have the gold and silver on them so it's hard to tell.

Regardless, the cleaner looks to be exactly the same, charging contact points in the same spot and man is it a POS.

I'd throw the shaver (arc 5) in the cleaner on clean/dry cycle at 6 or 7am, come home at 5pm and it'd still be wet.

That's likely the lubricant for the blades that's making it appear as though it's wet.

@TheContact: No idea why I'm getting negged..

I know what the lubricant is…I keep my foil and blades lightly oiled to prevent corrosion. I keep most metal things I own lightly lubricated.

The panasonic shavers in my experience are ok for dry use, I just have to say after some time with the cleaner I thought it was a POS.

I have used my arc 5 almost all weekdays since I originally bought in 2019.

@Assburg: Heh, your opinion is the complete opposite of mine.

I do wet shaves in the shower and find the Panasonic no worse or better than the Braun Series 9(non-Pro) I had previously.

I do think the cleaning station is superior though, as I can shove a wet shaver into it and either just dry or clean. While the Braun warns against putting a wet shaver in so I would take the head apart and leave it on the counter to dry in the mornings before cleaning in the evening.

I mentioned the lubricant possibility because I don't always use the station to clean and also use it to just dry. When I do use the dry function on it's own, it comes out completely dry. It's only when I also clean that it has that residue(/lubricant?) on it still.

  • I’ve recently tried the Braun 9pro, then this Panasonic 6 blade, then back to 9pro, having been Panasonic for a while. For me, shave time is twice that of Braun and cleaner is a bit of an afterthought. I like the longer charging cable but would personally recommend Braun. But this is a great price so up to you. 30 day return

    • Hi
With shave time being half with Braun, how come?
I am using an older model Panasonic with 5 blades. Time to replace the blade costing over $100. I picked up the Philips Prestige last week . But haven’t opened it yet. Considering to return it as and get Braun series 9 pro or this one. what’s your experience have been with Braun compared to Panasonic. Another reason for not opening Philips (Rotary vs Foil). I always find hard to shave around neck with Panasonic. Doesn’t do a great job from my experience.
      TIA

      • It just is. As I said I’ve tried both and the Braun twice. It’s just better at picking up the stubble in one to two passes.
I originally bought and returned the Braun on the perceived 5 yr warranty, which is non-existent. Tried the Panasonic and it just took 5 mins to get a half decent smooth shave. This was just face. Neck the Panasonic may have been slightly better. I also had a few weird hairs on my moustache and the Panasonics NEVER got and had to snip by scissors. Braun gets these

  • I recently bought a Philips AquaTouch shaver 3000, I'm just now realizing I made a mistake, do you guys normally buy online? I know the Shaver Shop is bit of a rip off, compared to these rare online deals you come across.
