    • I got Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader good discount for new game

  • Thank you! Got Mortal Kombat 1 => FATALITY!

    • Fighting games are usually better on console?

  • Just a public service announcement from someone who LOVED Jedi Survivor.

That game is nigh almost broken on PC and the amount of bugs on PS5 is just ridiculous.

I would STRONGLY recommend trialing it's performance on your PC before purchasing. When I tried it on my PC after loving it on PS5 (completed twice) it barely, barely ran. I have a 5800x3d and a 4080, so it's a pretty okay machine but Survivor just wasn't ready for launch.

Honestly as much as I loved the game, I don't know if I'd buy a sequel. I want to play finished games, not buggy messes. I'm very disappointed in it's quality. Just finished it again on PS5 and whilst I didn't see any hard locks, it often felt like it was on the verge of crashing and this is on a closed system, a console. I would be shocked if any of the issues on PC had been adequately addressed.

Pretty OK?! That's a high-end build my friend!

Good PSA though, shame they messed it up so badly as I was kinda excited for the sequel.

      • Me too. Enjoyed the first, loved the second but…. man those bugs are really unexcusable in my eyes. Especially for a soulslike. If you're going to make skill the gatekeeper, then you should make it fair. Deaths should be from mistakes, not from bugs and shoddy programming.

And thanks. Love my PC! But I try to be humble. In 4 years time it will be an entry level build if I'm lucky. No use screaming about how it should run every game under the sun at crazy framerates. But it should be playable at least!

It was fine for me in PS5. No issues.

      • +2

played it on PS5. countless visual and audio bugs, awful frame drops, softlocks, crashes to home screen, sometimes the d pad controls will stop working and you need to restart. Loved the game but it was a technical dumpster fire

        • +1

Just finished last week. I think they have fixed all that now.

      • Really? Even the lucre hulk?

Not my experience at all. Played last week and I was seeing frame drops into the 20s in that level along with falling through the floors and the entire level feeling like it was reloading if I paused.

I didn't enjoy Alan Wake 1 or Control that much - does Alan Wake 2 change up the formula or is it similar to those two?

    • It is very different. Check out some reviews and see if it is right for your. IMO it is a fantastic game, but I also loved AW1.

    • -1

Yeah just found out they were made by the same developer. Similar feel for both Control and AW1. Not much of a story but what there is, is a bit convoluted. Just a glorified repetitive shooter. Great atmosphere, sound etc. But like almost all games over the past 10-15 years, they are all just shooters disguised with different settings. Lazy! Cant be only me thats sick of shooting in every game

      • +2

Edit: I'm not even sure which game you're talking about now I've re-read it.

You must have played a different Alan Wake II to me.

It was story heavy, with shooting elements to keep it 'a game'.

Convoluted? Maybe. Not much of a story? The story was the entire point of the game, and they won best narrative at the Game Awards for it…

        • Im talking about the first Alan Wake :)
Havent played the second because i didnt like the first one.
Your response with shooting elements to keep it a game, is exactly the problem with games. Developers think they need to put in majority shooting levels to keep people happy and it helps pad the runtime of these lazy games.

I really tried to give the best chance to Alan Wake 2, but I just couldn't endure it past the first hour or so. The story felt tired and so slooow. Maybe it gets better later on in the game, but I don't think I will ever know. But that's just my taste. Otherwise the game looks well made with ok graphics and some puzzles etc. $30 is probably close to its real value.

    • Can you just return it ??

    • +1

Might not be for you, but its one of the best games of the year.

  • Do try it and you can jsut return it if no good right???

  • +1

Is Midnight Sun DLC worth it or should I just get the base game?

    • +1

Definitely worth it. The extra characters are great additions and the side story ties well into the main game.

    • +1

Only $10.24 more for the ultimate edition with everything, so I'd say it's a damned good price for the upgrade.

  • Immortals of Aveum or Star Wars Jedi Survivor?
Which one less likely to go on Gamepass?

    • +2

I mean, Jedi Survivor will def be on Gamepass at some stage because of the EA partnership. Only a matter of time!

      • Thanks, I think Immortals of Aveum may also be on Gamepass in the future.

Consider acquiring any Ubisoft and EA games that interest you. I believe you you need to download them once via the Epic client, then they get registered with the EA and UPlay clients and you can play without the Epic bloatware running. I am just testing this out now. I picked up Far Cry 6 Basic, Anno 1800 Basic and R6 Extraction. Unfortunately the Complete edition of AC Valhalla isn't discounted on Epic (but is on Steam). After 14 days I will use the 10% cashback to purchase Battlefield 2042. I have heard it is possible to pir8 the Anno 1800 DLCs if you own the base game; all of the DLCs now would exceed my budget.

It would be nice if Steam gave us a little cashback or coupons during their upcoming Christmas sale. They can afford to discount games by an extra 10% over what the publisher is discounting a title to, since they make a 30% profit on most games sold.

    • Yeah, I got Mirage and it's a one-time link and it got added to my Ubisoft account and I just installed it from that. Which was nice because I have the whole AC series on Connect, and now I still do.

  • Cool. Will double dip

  • riders republic standard edition for $10 if you get something else pushing you into the 33% discount. grabbbed that and tony hawks for about $28 total.

They have the skate edition of riders for a bit more but im not sure its worth it

  • Wish they did a deal on ps5 on this.

  • +2

    Tony Hawks 1 + 2 is tempting.

Red Dead 2 works out at $19.89

    Star Wars Squadrons $2.49

  • Great deals

  • +1

Returnal at $42.62 also looks pretty good

  • I abolutely hate how the cupon gets used when you claim the free game, I was going to buy Alan wake but because I claimed the free game my cupon is now gone… I think it is the 4th or 5th time this happens. I just auto pilot claiming the free game when I enter the store.

    • +1

Don't they just keep giving you new coupons so you always have one?

    • Just click on the coupon on the home page again and you’ll get a new 33% off
