      It's a keeper!

      • What you did there. 👀

No it is not. Especially the cap - falling apart due to the cheap dishwasher tablets.

    • +3

Nope, the rubber lid and grip perishes and develops this weird oily feel. Not sure why but makes it gross to use

      • +1

The lid on this one is plastic, not rubber. It's extremely durable and doesn't go oily. I've not had an issue with the grip, although I can see how it could degrade over time

    • title didn't give this up for you ?

KeepCup Original Clear, Reusable Plastic Coffee Cup

      • +7

The title was changed from glass to plastic. So he's not wrong.

        • -7

the title always said plastic when you clicked on the link…so you had time to see its plastic before you bought!

      • +1

Shouldn't say Glass here on OzB then…

    • +2

I noticed this just as I added it to my cart. Was going to ask about this, essentially "what's special about this given it's made out of plastic", but you essentially answered that here. Thanks.

    • +1

This was a huge plus for me, and the reason I bought this model years ago. It's wayy lighter than glass, drop-resistant, and yet still clear.
The plastic is pretty durable and resistant to minor scratches.

    Plastic not glass

Glass ones like this are given away at every IT trade show. It has the company branding of course but its free.

    • They used to give these away at every Fund Manager event as well, still have about a dozen in my cupboard with different asset managers!

      • I read the t in assets as an s. Username also checked out that way

    • +3

its not free you wasted a day of your life for it.

      • Grab the cup and run away?

    • None at cisco live last week unfortunately.

    • Are the red and black ones as good as Keep Cups?

      • No. I have had the same Keep Cup for near 10 years now and ive replaced the cork band a couple times and thats it. Ive had plenty of cheapy cups but they just dont last like my keep cup has.

If it’s glass, it would be a worthy choice, since it’s plastic I’d say pass

    • Agree!!

Your comment was so close to a rhyme I had to ftfy

I'm ashamed to say I have collected over a dozen keep cups now from gifts and ozbargain, not sure how much better the environment is doing….

Greta Thunberg just gave you a virtual hug.

  • Looks like the Amazon pic is wrong as it shows glass

NO BPA Free ? No Thanks

    • +4

BPA Free or not. Plastic is plastic. Who know what scientists will tell few years later about the chemicals used in BPA-free cups as well.

    • -1

It literally says BPA Free in the title.

  • Before COVID the world went crazy with these keep cups. I was given one at every work event and I ended up selling the glass ones on FB marketplace for $5 and gave the plastic ones to charity. Now I just use a normal ceramic cup as it just feels better.

  • Way too expensive for plastic.

  • People pay for these?

I got one free from work a few years ago (a glass one). Found it in a drawer the other day and chucked it into the recycling.

  • Nothing beats the foodary double glass ones for $5

Problem is they don’t sell them anymore

And they’re so elegant but as fragile as.

  • I prefer glass. Replacement parts are expensive though, and this is good value for a replacement lid and sleeve

  • Not bad alternative cost via click and collect at Myer down from the usual price point, including the glass and stainless steel jobs

    • Same price at Myer currently.

  • Plastic coffee cup?

    Can't be healthy right??

    I'm not a doctor

  • I don't understand what it is.

looks like the container for urination sample my doctor asks me to use.

  • TIL there are seasons for keep cups.

  • Being an Aussie product I bought their cups and updated when they made stalnless steel ones. There were design flaws and I raised a complaint with suggestions to modify.
    They ignored it.
Later they withdrew that particular design without acknowledging the flaws in their design.
Decided not to support them anymore.

  • Back in stock and another colour available for same price: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0B885NS64?th=1&psc=1

  • just cancelled as thought it was glass aswell
