No matter what deal anyone posts it's not going to make the people who missed the Hardly Normal deal happy

    • That is soo true… ! I should have bought it then… What was the price in that deal for pixel 8pro?

Harvey still has Sim only deal with $500 gift card so not sure if it works or not now?

They shouldn't feel too bad. I got that deal (when they finally got stock) and regret the phone. The reception I get is terrible and I'm with Telstra. To the point I'll probably go back to my S21 Ultra until the s24 comes out.

I also use dual Sim and it's terrible for that. You can't even set a seperate ringtone for each Sim. Not an issue if your a single Sim user.

But yeh, as my first experience with a google phone I'm pretty disappointed that such a basic function like reception is terrible. Never had an issue in the same areas with Samsung, OnePlus, Motorola etc

      • Absolutely Pixel phone is far from perfect. There are still people very happy on Pixel 8 Pro. If hardware performance is very important for you, then you would not go for Pixel phone.

Thats weird. I dont have receiption issues and I have 3 phones at me all the time, all Telstra.
        Samsung S21 Ultra
        Pixel 7 Pro
        Pixel 8 Pro (JB Telstra)

I have noticed my S21 dropping connectivity more recently, not sure if a software update is to blame, but at least once a week I have to go flight mode on/off to remedy it

Yeh it's not something I expected but seems to be pretty common when searching pixel 8 signal issues. With my S21 I could talk anywhere in the house and in my workshop (essentially a metal garage) with no issues. Now I have to go outside both for calls.

I don't think I've ever even seen it go about half bars even outdoors and can be looking at them when it suddenly drops to 0 and then back to half. Whether that's just a visual thing compared to actual signal issue I'm not sure.

Cheaper at Telstra Store - 128GB @1299 outright

    • I was going to post this at 1am but was worried it would get negged to hell for not being anywhere as good as the bf + trade in bonuses (eg officeworks) 😂

Also to buy from telstra need to have an account. Can’t be a non member.

  • Annoying they've bumped up the pro price this year for seemingly no reason.

If this gets down to 1000 + trade in credit bonus on top, I'd trade my S22 Ultra in a heartbeat.

    • Interesting, basically same level of processors and cameras, Google has a lot of post processing features though. And all those robot-talking-to-phone-AI-maybe. Battery life is arguable. Why would you pay half a grand at least to swap?

      • Google says their phone have magic in their advertisement.

I guess it's worth getting buying from Google and getting the refund as you also get the $250 store credit as well?

    • Ooof thats a good call!
