    first order went through instantly and got my gift card
    second one get rejected when paying by paypal, change to credit card, get charged however still not receiving the gift card, it's been more than 10 minutes.

    My order was processed by Paypal and was issued a refund pretty much immediately. Gees. So that was a fail.

      made a 2nd transaction with same paypal. it didn't go throught (instant refund). Wonder if there is a security check behind. Change browser, used CBA credit card. it went through! thank god

    AirBNB cards do not expire. But like any business, your account could be closed suspended for undisclosed reason, justkeep in mind.

        Gift card is , not your money. It's kind of a service they have oblication to provide to you, only when your account is in good stand.
        So if you put too much gift card into apps or websites, you have the risk have them stolen , suspended, baned etc, and none of those website will talk to you or disclose the reason whey they do such thing to your account. Most of the time you will not be able to find a real person to talk with. For example, doordash, uber, ebay, airbnb, amazon etc etc. No I do not hear or read any website or app will refund you your giftcard via anyway

            @jsssdoit: DO NOT BUY Airbnb gift cards
            Airbnb considers this gift cards as some sort of coupon
            This is not accepted as an initial payment
            If you pay with giftcards and cancel you booking within the cancellation period your gifcards will be forfeited.
            I am going to take these with ACCC as gift cards should be treated as cash NOT A COUPON OR DISCOUNT.

                @jsssdoit: I had a long chat with Airbnb support and escalated the issue of not allowing giftcard as intial payment.
                Then the manger called back and had a debate for 10 minutes.That is when I realised that gift card payments are not refundable unless the cancellation is initiated by the host or Airbnb.
                Not a fair rule.

                    @JohnHowardsEyebrows: I am not expecting then to refund as cash but credit to the account is a fair expectation.
                    The credit will be forfeited if you initiate a cancellation.
                    If you are paying by credit card or PayPal the paymets will be reversed as per the cancellation policy

      They also have a lot of rules to prevent people using the cards in some situations such as not being able to use gift cards to extend a booking. Please read the terms and conditions carefully

    Had issues verifying my paypal, and Suncorp had issues too.

    Switched to pay with ING card and i was fine.

    Same as other people. Transaction failed using PayPal. Tried again with credit card and went through fine. Had gift cards about 2 minutes later. Thanks OP.

      AIRBNB GC are not like other giftcards.
      Once used you are not going to get it back unless cancelled by the host or AirBNB

          This was exactly explained to me by one of the managers.
          Buying these gift cards is a TRAP..
          PLEASE AVOID AT ALL CIRCUMSTANCES
          As explained in one of the post Airbnb cosider Gift card as a discount / coupon and a substandard form of payment.
          As if they are doing a favour to the customer by allowing the customer to pay by GC.
