Tricare Foaming Hand Wash Soap Refill 500ml $1.69 (Was $3.29) @ ALDI

290

Pretty decent price for foaming refills if you don't make your own.

The orange smelt a little cheap. The pink & purple a little nicer. Didn't check the green.

Pretty sure I didn't put an end date 🧐

  • Does this stuff dry your hands out?

    • +3

      Quite sure all soaps do

    • I personally have found that the foaming soap dries my hands out and the normal stuff not so much.

I guess makeing "foaiming soap" using liquid handwash would still be cheaper

    • how do you do that

      • I just add water. I do that with the Palmolive liquid handwash. The liquid handwash is a lot thicker than the foaming hand wash. I watered it down and it worked for me. I can't remember the ratio though.

water hey? I was expecting the answer to be foam

    • I tried once, but the dispenser jammed.

      • Yeah me too the proper foam liquid is some stupid formula that doesn’t glog the pump dispenser

        • I could be wrong, but I think it's glycerine. I remember watching some science experiment TV show, which changes the viscosity and makes liquids foam (need some egghead to clarify for me). Can anyone check the ingredients on the bottle?

I make foaming soap from normal hand soap, like so. Mix warm (~80 degrees) water in a jug and the normal hand soap in the ratio of 1 part soap to 3 parts water. Whisk thoroughly to ensure mixed and then when cooled down refill foaming soap dispenser. If you get the ratio right, the dispenser shouldn't jam. I've stuffed up before and jammed the dispenser :(

      • Great tip! Going to try your recipe

Wish I could upvote it, same thought here, I give zero recommendation for wasting more money on foaming soap (better buy normal one and dilute at home like you suggested)

Also like to add if it's jammed, then you very likely need to dilute more. Another tip (DONT BUY normal PALMOLIVE SOAP its not really compatible with this method, they like design it in a wierd way that cannot turn into foaming one). I suggest getting Northforlk, or any other home branded soap, (less flavour, scent neutral is better). Aldi ones are way way too oily, IDK if that is your liking tho, (not mine tho).

        • Yeah, totally agreed, basically the consistency should be water like, jsut add more water if there's still gel in it, paying for foaming soap is like paying mroe for a dilutes product rather than buying a concetrate

          • @taker312: Also I use dettol foaming pump, thats the best

            • @taker312: I bought mine from eBay due to larger size (as my family goes through a lot very quickly,
Ebay was like 2x 500-650 mL for like $14ish foam soap bottles only)

I couldn't find any larger size like 1L pump bottle with foam dispenser mechanism (if i did I'd buy that honestly)

            • @taker312: That's the pump that decided to jam in my case.

  • I don't like the smell of the green one. Too bad I've got to get through a whole bottle of it now.

    • :S gtk

  • These all smell funky as
