Bissell SpotClean Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner $164 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Harvey Norman / Joyce Mayne

600

(Very barebones) Bissell SpotClean Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner is $35 off at Harvey Normans. Deal seems to be Australia wide, but not sure when it will end.

Includes single 8cm Tough Stain Tool only. This is fine for the majority of peoples cleaning needs. It might be cheaper to buy more expensive models that include more tools, rather than purchasing them individually.

*If you want to do the "complete car" you will probably need a crevice tool for getting around tight spaces, like under seats. For people with carpetted stairs, the 3-in-1 tool will help.

  • Great price. Don’t push too hard or the head breaks in half.

      Sounds like me…

  • This or K-mart one? Just use for mattress and carpet, car seat things

Good luck finding the Kmart one, they're sold out everywhere including online, no backorder and people are putting them on marketplace for $130 (RRP: $99) to make a bit of coin out of them.

    • I didn’t use this one. Just bought the Kmart one online last week and delivery was surprisingly next day. It’s a bit loud but results were fantastic. Suction was great too. You need to discover the right technique though. Biggest challenge with Kmart one is to find the stock.

Good price. Got one earlier this year. The novelty wears off but it's great for quickly getting onto stains before they set (red wine, pet accidents).

The waste collection reservoir isn't brilliantly designed unfortunately. You can't avoid spilling at least a couple of drops of whatever you've sucked up when you go to empty it by nature of the intake. Buuut beyond that, pretty good.

  • going to be cheaper tomorrow at supercheapauto

    • I might be wrong, but the 26% off at SCA tomorrow is off RRP. The bissell automate is $249.99 normally, so it should be around 185ish dollarydoos tomoz.

      • And they have an "SCA exclusive" 2.2m hose over the standard retail models…

Joyce Mayne has this for $99…am I missing something?

    • ohh damn, good deal

    • $30 shipping, still cheaper though

    • JM is owned by HN, once the price match is done with HN/GG etc then its go time

      • This model, 4725, is only at Harvey Norman/Joyce Mayne. The GG have different models so not pricematchable.

FYI for those wanting it for only a spot, or a day, plenty on Facebook Marketplace hiring out the Turbo versions and that for $15-$25/day …

    • I paid $150 for the turbo. Great device that I’ve used many many times. Cars, kids, furniture, pets.

ppl seem to rate the vax (easily available in shops like BiG W/Bunnings) over the bissell. vax is cheaper too.

asking only because im looking to get one but can't make up my mind.

The Vax has 'self cleaning' ability, so that's nice.

I have to warn people, after spending 500+ on a Bissell crosswave multisurface cleaner, that once the warranty goes, you are literally on your own.

In my experience, there was literally zero ability or repairer in Sydney willing to fix it, even if its the smallest thing (in my case, just a small plastic nozzle connecting the water tank to the main unit). Bissel wont even fix it if you offer to pay for it. All they will do is give you the number of some random electronic repairer somewhere around port stephans or somewhere north, who actually told me that he hasnt repaired a bissell in a decade plus but bissell keeps handing out his number.

The best you can do is hope you can buy whatever replacement part yourself (in my case, it simply wasnt available anywhere on the internet) and see if someone has made a youtube video on fixing your specific problem.

I bought 2 bissell products previously but never again after that experience.

    • Try taobao.

      • It was an internal but critical part, and wasnt like an external hose fitting (which i replaced on my spot cleaner) or brush, etc.

I sent photos to bissell and told them i could even fix it myself if they just provided me with the small plastic part and was willing to pay for it.

The crosswave cleaner was barely 3 months out of warranty.

        • Just go to taobao and search bissell, you should find quite a few spare parts for it.

        • It might be able to be replicated if the pics and dimensions are given to someone with a 3D printer - or even people already making it, if it's a common faulty item

I'd be taking it up with fair trading. Warranty isn't necessarily just their warranty, it is what would be deemed reasonable time to have it before it breaks….as this was an exxy unit, you would expect it to last longer…..see what they say at FT

    • Thanks for sharing your experience. Think I'll just get a Vax, seems to have local warranty from the likes of bunnings and big w, etc.

  • Not know this version but another one left my recliher saturated . Done by a company . Poor extraction .

  • Tempting. Been meaning to rent a cleaner from Bunnings for a rug+ upholstery clean but this seems like a good price.

  • Does this work on rugs?
