Is it unethical on OzBargain, to post a deal for something specific, in the hope some other OzBargainer will jump in with a better price from another source?

As long as you’ve done a bit of Googling first to find the cheapest price you can.
Personally I like a post that grows legs with others contributing.

Obviously you need to check there isn’t a better deal up here before Googling. Otherwise you don’t post the deal. Then you find out if there is a better price out there before posting. :)
I have to admit I’m a bit slack. I take photos and then can’t be arsed to post a deal. I will try to do better.

Its the professional way of asking for someone to find you the cheapest price with out asking the question and getting flamed.
Dangerous game to post a deal here before you have secured it for yourself
I don't know why people post price errors. If you place the order and keep it to yourself maybe it'll slip through the cracks and be fulfilled, but if you post it here there will be thousands of orders, some people will order hundreds of units alone, and that guarantees all orders get cancelled.
Nothing wrong with that in my opinion. The chance that someone finds you a better deal than what you already have are low. It happens, but not always. If you have this ethical dilemma in your mind, I suggest that proactively ask the community if they can find a better price. That way you have made your intent very clear.
