Why would anyone buy this not knowing its weight? Imagine it takes eg. 3 kg off your hand luggage allowance.

    Also this boggles my mind:

    TSA Lock with USB Port

It should probably be "TSA Lock and USB Port", but I haven't looked it up properly and can't be sure if TSA can now open via USB or what.

Agreed. Weight is important for hand luggage’s and laptops, and can be a deal breaker in many cases, like this one, for me. But I’ve rarely seen it mentioned in the deals for some reasons.

I’ve rarely seen it mentioned in the deals for some reasons

Because - as you mentioned - it's a deal breaker for many, so "the marketing team" doesn't want to advertise it. Unaware people don't realise a bare suitcase can eat up half of the allowance and buy it.

        • I always like to know the weight plus weight capacity of items. I have a 80L backpack i can no longer carry, so a luggage with wheels is necessary.

I’ll buy it if it take 3kg off me.

    55cm - 2.8kg
    66cm - 3.8kg

note that the suitcases posted yesterday are a bit lighter, but unremarkably so: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/822474

  • Thanks to you two for checking. That's one heavy set of suitcases.

  • I bought a 1.8kg 4 wheel spinner for japan trip from bag stop it broke 1st day in tokyo. I now use a 1.4kg tote style bag with sholder staps. Max storage and weight for carry on. It allow me hands free to help with wife/childs luggage they are incapable of travelling light.

  • Hey fellow cheepos, are these branded suitcases in any way better than stuff you get for $50 at paddy's markets or $70 at kmart?

    • I think it’s the warranty thats worth spending for with these brands. But personally no experience with the market/kmart brands.

      • market brand - well some of the plastics are brittle and break every flight
some are OK, seem bouncy like the exy brands
but you can't tell which is which until it breaks or doesn't.

But when I break, I go after the airline warranty right? Which eg ANA repaired a broken wheel, Qantas poked a hole thru the plastic and said that's normal wear and tear. Would brand warranty cover wilful damage?
