You should buy it if you’re happy with the price and think it’s enough data for you.

I think the short answer is "YES, BUY"

  • High is a relative term. Have you actually checked how much data you use?

When I was with Vodafone for a month, my data use dropped because I couldn't use data.

    • I use min 40GB per month

It is what you expect it to be. Telstra network coverage, data usage is fairly accurate. Not sure what else there is to say.

  • Can someone give their opinion?

It does what it says on the box…. Full Telstra network, 4G/5G speeds, wifi calling, VoLTE etc

Since my super has some Telstra shares, have you considered buying Telstra directly for a higher price?

  • Your gonna be paying $0.87 per GB. If you go Aldi $39 65GB you'll be paying $0.60 per GB (plus double data for the first 3m; with unlimited rollover). If it doesn't meet your needs you can always port out to another retailer.

    • How Aldi network compare to Boost mobile?

      • Not sure. But for even lower cost per GB, get the $29 25GB for the first 3m (double data). I'd suggest the 365d plans aren't good value for high data users.

The only MVNO that has the full Telstra network access is Boost. Aldi and all others use the wholesaler network.

Telstra's full network (99.6%) is offered to its customers while MVNOs use Telstra's wholesale network which reaches only 98.8% of the population. The only exception is Boost Mobile who has complete access to the Telstra mobile network.

  • Hey guys someone on Whirlpool forum gave me this idea:

"If u don’t need to travel to remote areas then the $19 pm Belong postpaid plan might be suitable for u. The plan itself comes with 4 or 5 GB data every month and then you can purchase 700GB data gift on eBay for only $45 ($40 if u have eBay plus and use the monthly coupon). Since all data (including the data gift you purchased from eBay + the data that comes with the plan every month) could be rollover to the next month as long as you keep an active recharge, the yearly cost will be $1912+ $45 = $273 for 412+700=748 GB data, making it less than $23 per month for 62gb to use every month."

    What's your take?

  • So do you need the full Telstra network or not?
If you don't need the full network, there are more options than Telstra and Boost, but if you do need it, there are no options.

    • I need the Full Tesltra network, but I am not willing to boost your Super lol

Belong, Woolies, Telechoice and a few others resell the Telstra wholesale network.
This gives access to Telstra network locations where there is competition from Optus or Voda, but not places where Telstra is the only option.

If you aren't sure, get a Belong sim for a month and see. But if you go to Telstra only locations you will need Boost.

Thanks for your feedback, I will go with Boost 365GB

          • @ekstrabraket: I'm in the same boat as my 12 month Boost prepaid SIM is due to expire at the end of next month.

Did you end up going with Boost? If so, did you find a deal, or did you just pay their regular price?

Also, I have looked at Aldi and some of the others, but I am not sure about coverage with those ones (I'm in country WA, about 400Kms north of Perth), so I am not sure if the others have decent coverage in these areas.Whatever state you're in, are you in the city or country?

I tried Vodafone last year when I ported my number, to them for one month, but that was horrible and don't want to do the number porting again. I wish you could just recharge with the deals people post up here instead of stuffing around with a port to another provider and back again.

  • Works fine in Oz.
Forget overseas roaming unsure where the bottleneck is.

  • on same boat, looking for promo for $230 sim.
