Save your pennies and get the GoPro Hero 12, the upgrade from 10 to 12 is worth it. I wouldn’t buy the 10. (I currently own the 11)

I tend to agree but it all comes down to money, it's hard to know when the 12 will be on sale again…

      I've had a 10 for 2 years and it's had a stack of use, decent camera, no complaints… but I upgraded to a 12 because the price was right, $487 - $50 GST(via TRS) = $437..

The 12 is smoother panning, you don't get the jerkiness you get at times on the 10, the 12 seems to run a bit cooler and the battery life on the Enduro battery seems quite a bit better…. I think the 10 is better in low light… Other than that I haven't noticed much difference but I haven't used the 12 a great deal yet, only a couple of hours on a cruise…

      Edit: Hero 12 = $497 C&C @ TGG with code SAVETH: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145360416564

i bought one of these.. POS in my opinion.. bought it for my trip.. ended up overheating 90% of the time. files kept repairing itself as soon as i recorded. Couldnt even use an external power source, Gopro Labs couldnt even scan QR codes.. waste of time. going through return process. never again. really disappointed

    • I've recorded hundreds of hours on my 10 and never once has it overheated, I have no reliability complaints what so ever… You probably should have chased up a warranty claim, (if you had tried all other fixes, different quality memory card, and such)… (IMO, it's best to buy from local stores so warranty claims are easier, and ACL protection)

As for running it off a powerbank. I've had no issues using an aging Blitzwolf 20,000mAh via a USB-C cable, I ran it off this powerbank (most the time) to record the whole Canning Stock Route earlier in the year, around 63 hours of riding/recording, 2000km, 3 deserts, in 30+C temps, not a single issue @ 4k-50fps…. I have a very old 10,000mAh Xiaomi power-bank but that wont run the Gopro, it's only USB-A and I suspect it cant deliver enough power…

  • thanks for the reviews guys, im actually going to go with the other deal for the osmo action 4. seems a lot better then this.
