The dial appears black in the pic but it's dark green. They actually say it's Khaki in the specs.

Never trust Amazon. Better pics here.

Looks more casual with a green nylon strap

    • That'll never catch on!

\looks at green Prospex on green Hemp Cotton Nato

      Uh, never mind.

    • I like the look of the nylon strap over the ss

      • +1

Agreed, nice contrast and as intended for field watches.
Too much ss on field watches is bland (and also prefer bead blasted).

Can't complain for the price but i'd pay more for a 4R35 / NH35 (with hand winding and hacking and 40h power reserve)
Also like date only or no date for field.

        • No date be the go imo

          • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: yes - agree, no date for field and it's very quick to set the time (hand wind like the khaki field is great).
Pretty tedious setting the day and date on those old seiko autos (or any watch to be honest).

I'd the Baltany military cronos on Aliexpress too for a great quality field quartz watch.

For those wondering about the movement it's "based on" the Seiko 7S26 movement that does duty in the Seiko 5 range.

Very reminiscent of parent company Seiko's SNZG09.

  • is this any good?

    • +3

Yes, it's basically a Seiko 5 model with a 7S26 auto movement. I think it would look good on you.

If you like the look of Lorus and want a no-frills version then Proud's have an undated quartz version for only $57.50 as part of their Boxing Day sales. Good for a beater watch.

  • Is it correct that this renamed Seiko 7S26 movement does not hack and is not hand-windable?
