Hey OP, some locations shows as $1. That's definitely a bargain.

    • MVP. Thanks. Updated the title.

    • Which stores have them for $1?

  • Not marked down across all stores
Among the 5 stores around me, 1x$4, 1x$5 and 3x$8.

    Pretty rare these days

    • good or bad?

Good if you got a 70mm hole? Most newer homes are generally 90mm

        • Good if you got a 70mm hole?

Can you please add HOME in sentence?

    • I suppose when these die you can just cut an extra 20mm out for the replacement.

      • The issue is more if the hole is already 90mm, rare not to be. My old home had 70mm but just moved and I wasn't able to use the spare downlights I had because the new holes were all 90mm

        • You can buy a plate can’t ya to mount the smaller down light into the bigger hole but some think it’s ugly

Dimmable by analog AC waveform chopping? <shudder>

    • It’s a sub $10 downlight (maybe even sub $5)… what do you suggest for this price that doesn’t depend on phase cut

      • I'd use Zigbee of course. Bulbs are under $10, and surely you can buy some bulk recessed e14/e27/gu10 sockets for cheap?
Maybe not, as recessed lighting is well out of fashion now. Track lights?

The new 9W 740 lumen models are also sub-$10.

          e27/gu10 sockets

          Pretty rare these days too

          track lights

Love track lights. But many feel it’s too ‘industrial’ for a home. I’d personally go nuts through my place if/when I can afford a Reno.

Though that being said if budget allowed I’d like to do some parts of the house in Casambi too. ATM just running a frankensteined network of tuya devices.

          arlec

I think if I was going to settle for a frosted face downlight and was going to roll the dice on phase cut I’d pay the premium for the new Sal S9065TC FG (Flicker guard) variant.

  • Anyone know if my local Bunnings will price match another store?

    • No, Bunnings will not price match another Bunnings store.

  • $8 at Rouse Hill

  • Bought 10 from Belambi ($4.50 each)! Thanks for posting 😁
