    • +1

      'AVR' at checkout

      • sorry I'm so blind

        thanks for that

    • AVR?

  • you can get a scratch'n'dent vsx-520 for $136ish i resisted… need to buy other stuff at the moment.

  • can someone help me to understand how this thing work? i have a philip 5.1 system with standing speakers and blueray player, not top end stuff but enough for my small tv room.

will this receiver pump more juice to the speakers and sub?

    • +1

If they're little Home Theatre in a box type speakers, it'll be the speakers themselves that are the problem, more than the amp driving them.
Yes, it likely will "pump more juice to the speakers and sub"

      • sub will only work if it is active one.. most of this type of HT have passive sub.

  • I snagged one thanks for heads up…

  • Wonder why the refurb is cheaper than the scratch and dent…

LOL, sold out while I was posting!

  • SOLD OUT

  • Discount Code works for other amps.

Note. I purchased a refurb 826 and have intermittent no sound problems when I switch inputs from a hdmi or optical. I have to unplug from mains, then it works ok…… For a time. Hard to reproduce but it happens frequently enough to annoy.
It's gone to a service centre!

    • Wish I'd read that 5 minutes ago. I just bought one for $291… couldn't resist.

    • I have a similar problem with my 521. Becomes unresponsive from remote or on unit controls after a while.
It is an issue, as I have to re-power from the mains, but for the effort of disconnecting and taking to the service centre and being without my sound for four weeks, I just deal with it.

      • My remote works on the occasion when no sounds is heard as I tried to change the signal input but it made no difference.

I turned hdmi control off all devices and tried powering them up in different orders but still a problem.

Weird thing is that I have amp hdmi tv out hooked to panasonic tv hdmi input with tv optical out to amp tv optical in. When it works it works well then I change the input to tuner, all good, change back to tv and no sound. Seems to happen more if the free to air is HD. Even changing back to tuner results in no sound. I can leave it like that for 20 mins and no sound so its mains removal time.

Bomber_bloke : I put up with the problem for the same reasons but now it just happens too often so doing it before my warranty runs outs. Gives me plenty of time to dicuss with pioneer if I need to as it seems to be a common theme

My 521s front left speakers volume is turned way day until you tap the side of the amp and then it increases in volume?? So annoying!
